We ordered a couple of cocktails which came quickly and were nice - small measures but good nonetheless! It took a few moments to be asked for our food order but the food arrived quickly and was delicious. Firefly has consistently good portion sizes across...each time I’ve been there. The only downside really was that we were cramped in a small alcove and the chairs were incredibly uncomfortable. We were with 2 tall men who could barely fit in this area and overall it was very uncomfortable. Best to visit whilst it’s quieter during the week.More

Ordered a veggie dish, was served chicken, which we found out because our veggie accidentally ate some. Sent it back and had to ask a manager to get the meal comped after being charged for it. Told the waitress we didnt want to pay service...and she kept sarcastically telling us how kind we were whilst we paid. She threw the card machine across the table for us to pay. Food was fine but the service from that waitress was disgusting and we wont be coming back. If you screw up an order, take it on the chin. If someone doesn't want to pay service, dont insult them as they pay.More

I am very fortunate to reside 5 mins away from The Firefly and maybe I am biased but have had so many good meals and experiences thought I would at last put pen to paper. This bar is different for so many reasons, interesting food...and quality, range of beers, service, and general ambiance. Aware like any establishment everyone has a different experience on a given day. However, a testament for me is consistency. For this, I give them the highest praise. Only yesterday (Sat night) we ventured into town to eat and had awful experiences so rushed back to Balham in time for food service. Such a comfort !More

Popped in here for a drink. Quite liked the menu so I ordered food. After each order I was promptly charged. While sitting enjoying a lovely meal, I noticed other guests were not getting charged immediately. I forgot to mention I was the only non...white guest. Of course when I mentioned my issue with the manager she made her excuses and apologised. But let’s face it. I am brown and was treated differently. Please don’t even try to justify this. Awful experience. Was looking forward to a rare evening out with my partner. Firstly they didn’t have our booking and they left us standing around awkwardly for 10 minutes - no apology offered. Then we reluctantly shown to a table with no service for another...10 minutes. Then a very grumpy waiter was aggrieved that we hadn’t decided what we wanted to order despite having failed to tell us the menu was only accessible online. An hour and a quarter later still no food! The cherry on top was discovering that the food order hadn’t even been put through so we left.More

Came here on a whim as it doesn’t look much from the outside. Had an amazing evening, atmosphere is buzzy, great for a drink and some of the best Thai food I’ve had. Staff were equally friendly and attentive. Will be our new local go...to spot!!!More

Manny the waiter was amazing, he met all of our needs! He has great knowledge on the drinks and was such a laugh. His manager Anthony was ever so friendly and welcoming also !

I had to leave Firefly as there was a lack of social distancing. My party of 4 was sitting at the front of the restaurant but there’s was a party of 6 who were of the large size crammed into a small table behind us,...clearly unable to socially distance and behind them was a party of 6 near the bar. I would have stayed if it was just our table and the one by the bar. It seems that Firefly do not care about the rules and are putting customers at risk with no perplex divisions & cramming tables/people. I will not waste my money here. Its disgusting that this establishment is putting customers at risk.More

I have been to the firefly a number of times with friends, family and dates. I absolutely love this place. The food is incredible and the atmosphere is warm and intimate with a buzz as it’s obviously very popular. The staff have always been friendly...and knowledgeable about their impressive array of beers. I really wished they did takeaway because I need their food during this lockdown! I keep finding myself checking to see if they have started doing this - that’s how good the food is. I would go as far as saying it’s the best Thai I have had in London! I highly recommend trying the battered salmon dish!More

Could not get in on Saturday night so opted for lunch on a Sunday and what a treat. A fantastic selection of beers, good wine and authentic Thai food. My Pad Thai was better than I ate in Bangkok. Service was warm friendly and attentive....In the evening we wondered around a very rainy Balham looking looking for something light and tasty to eat and could not find anywhere inspiring so we went back - a sharing of five of the starters was delicious including some steamed chicken and prawn dumplings - we will definitely be going back.More

Incredible food, vibrant atmosphere and impressive beer selection let down by un-attentive, disinterested and rude service

I took some friends to firefly for an evening meal and some drinks. It was busy and buzzy We were well looked after by James, and some other lovely friendly waiters and waitresses. We have two course Thai meal which was fantastic. All handmade, piping...hot and delicious The 2-for-1 cocktails till 7 pm were lovely and served in the correct glasses. Always good to see some establishments just use bog standard tumblers or jam jars! There is a great bar area at the front , for casual drinking , as well as a more formal seating area towards the back It’s very near the tube and you can park for free for 2 hours in Sainsbury’s , a few metres awayMore
