We walked around Chinatown and couldn't decide. We went into one restaraunt (the Golden something) and the waitress was extremely rude and the food didn't look great at other tables so we walked out. We left Chinatown to go back to the Palace Theatre (as we were seeing Harry Potter at 7:30). Yming was directly behind it and thank goodness... More

Your experience at Yming will vary, depending on when you visit. It's not a big restaurant. If you arrive in the frantic pre-theatre sittings, there will be a bustling, industrious atmosphere as food is rushed out to customers. Once that is over, things become calmer and the staff have a chance to catch their breath and be more relaxed. Don't... More

Set just off the hustle and bustle of Chinatown in Greek Street the Yming is a nice unassuming Chinese restaurant we wanted to try. We weren't disappointed. Quick service (we had barely 90 minutes to order and eat before going to a concert in Covent Garden). Nice mixed starters (Wun tuns, spring rolls, seaweed, spare ribs and sesame prawn toasts)... We try and visit here at least twice a year, as a couple or with friends. Everyone always really enjoys the meal and the service is always good too. Visited yesterday with friends and another lovely meal.

A between shows meal here was flavorful, savory and delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful, and considerate of theater goers. A wonderful meal with friends here. Definitely recommended.

We were 5 people and none of us liked the food. Almost full plates was sendt back. Service was not good. Tried to ask for things but got ignored. Got the bill in chinese and no help when we asked to split it up so everyone could pay their part. We went from the restaurant still hungry. Not a good... More

Its taken us year ,since FUNG CHING in Lisle st closed, to find a comparable genuine Chinese restaurant, but this is the one. Nicely situated just outside China town, the food ,is Traditional and of the Highest quality. Knowledgable and very helpful staff, in tranquil unhurried surroundings. Food that tasted even better than it looked, such a gem

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
