Food was awesome! We enjoyed the food since it was in our must visit eating list. My kid enjoyed the food since they miss the Malay food. Excellent food and service!

We came down from Manchester to London booking in advance. This is our third visit to Satay House this year and each one has been perfect. The food is authentic and delicious. The staff are very friendly. If you like Malay cuisine then you won't be disappointed. We always have the Ayam Masak Merah (Chicken with Tomato and Chilli sauce)... More

Great food at reasonable prices. Recommend the satay sticks, spring rolls and the eggplant. Despite the bad reviews on service and taking so long to get your food I had no problem. The food did take longer than normal but that is because they cook from scratch, nothing is pre cooked. The reason why I didn't rate it higher was... More

We were here in London for a weekend trip and was delighted to find this gem of a restaurant. The service was excellent and it seems like its pretty popular as it was fairly crowded so I would advise to book ahead. I have read other reviewers saying that the service was a bit slow but we didn't find this... More

Very difficult to find authentic Malaysian food in London, but this is probably the best you'll find. The only other place that sells proper Malay food is Dapur on Clerkenwell Road. There are a number of other so-called restaurants purporting to sell Malay/Singapore food, but most of these sell some kind of bastardised Chinese buffet/take-away type food that bear no... More

Very tasty dishes and a good range of wines - cosy but with space also in the basement, I have eaten there 4 times in 5 weeks.

As other reviews have stated, the food was fantastic and incredibly delicious, great prices but the service was very slow. Quite a long wait before our order was taken and our food was served and needed some prompting. I had the tofu vegetable skewer and the caramelised aubergine curry and both were fantastic.

Satay House is a delightful discovery and for those who need their fix of Malaysian or Indonesian food this is the place to be. The menu is excellent with lots of Malay and Indonesian favourites and we ordered the satay and spring rolls both were excellent and tasty. I then went for the comfort of Beef Redang ( simply stunning... More

Description
For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington has been attracting lovers of Malaysian cuisine from all over the capital and across the globe. Satay House Malaysian restaurant was given a rejuvenating makeover in 2006 by the designers of Wagamama so it now sports cheerful orange feature walls with hibiscus flower stencils, sleek leather upholstery and pools of warm light. Despite the name, the food isnt just about meat on sticks, though Satay Houses satay is likely to be the best in the city. Certainly the restaurant is a home-away-from-home for ex-pat Malaysians and there are regular visits from the Malaysian royal family. Large portions of fiery sambal and traditional rending curries offer the perfect opportunity to eat Hidangan style, or sharing with the rest of your table as in traditional Malay culture. All food served at Satay House is certified Halal and the soft beverages include several intriguing Malay offerings.
