Good place for the lunch. Simple intérieur, fast service. Big portions. The lamb was very soft and juicy! I like Malaysian food and I was surprised how similar the taste was to the food that I had in Malaysia many years ago. Is sounds funny, but I was grateful for this amazing rice and lamb! I felt like I went... More

I came to the Saturday house last month, having not visited this restaurant since the 1980s! I used to work just around the corner when I first moved to London as a young woman, so I frequently came here with my boss and my colleagues for lunches. In those days it was very unassuming little restaurant, family run; Malaysian cuisine... More

We liked this small family run malaysian restaurant very much, even though the service was a little chaotic due to it beeing on two floors ... We loved it however, the food was very good and not overprice. We are sorry, that we only ate here on our very last evening ... If only we had discovered it earlier we... More

The place is in a nice area, the atmosphere is nice but not too formal. Perfect for a solo dinner - quiet, casual, relaxed. The food was amazing - honestly the best curry I've ever had. Prices are very good, too. Would go back anytime I'm back in London.

There used to be a wonderful Malaysian restaurant in Dering Street called The Satay Stick. It was so authentic they would warn you not to eat certain assam dishes as they were generally too hot for the uninitiated. It closed about twenty five years ago and it was impossible to get a good laksa lemak or rendang until the satay... More

Went with a friend and shared the Roti, Laksa Mee, and Sambal Bass. We were beyond full and had leftovers. The food was flavorful, balanced, perfectly spiced and entirely reasonable. Absolutely loved and can't wait to enjoy again :)

Having just returned from Malaysia I wanted to eat out with a friend to show her how lovely the food is. Bad choice! We ordered battered prawn and squid as a starter - disgusting doughy heavy batter completely weighing down the lovely seafood accompanied by a sauce I can only describe as corrosive. My main was the over fried sea... More

We were a group of Malaysian who were craving for Malaysian food after having the routine English breakfast day in day out (no pun intended). We frequented Satay House during dinner and find the food to be very good. The only issue is that the waitresses are generally non-Malaysian and thus, are not very familiar with the menu or pronunciation.... More

What a terrible experience. From the tv showing sky sports to the screwed up laminated A5 wine list, we should have run for the hills. Stayed to see if looks are deceiving and in this case they are not!! The satay was greasy and chewy, sea bass dry and tasteless, noodles greasy and rice cheap and tasteless. I'm not sure... More

Description
For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington has been attracting lovers of Malaysian cuisine from all over the capital and across the globe. Satay House Malaysian restaurant was given a rejuvenating makeover in 2006 by the designers of Wagamama so it now sports cheerful orange feature walls with hibiscus flower stencils, sleek leather upholstery and pools of warm light. Despite the name, the food isnt just about meat on sticks, though Satay Houses satay is likely to be the best in the city. Certainly the restaurant is a home-away-from-home for ex-pat Malaysians and there are regular visits from the Malaysian royal family. Large portions of fiery sambal and traditional rending curries offer the perfect opportunity to eat Hidangan style, or sharing with the rest of your table as in traditional Malay culture. All food served at Satay House is certified Halal and the soft beverages include several intriguing Malay offerings.
