Our older group of 5 were the only customers, the attention from manager and waiting staff was helpful and not "pushy".Eventually it filled up with lots of lots of young people. The service and the food was exceptional, catering for every type of palate We had a selection of Indian type of music which started to changed as the customers were younger.I am sure the food was cooked for us.All our requests for modifications in dishes was taken care of.My Fish course was wonderful, the vegetable curry had tinned/frozen diced vegetables which was a little bit of a letdown. All in all it is a fine restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. (others who have written reviews are perhaps mixing it up with another)

After several weeks of lockdown, we were delighted to find a restaurant near us that would deliver in our area. We rang to double-check, and they advised us that we could order on the phone or online, to prevent the risk of infection with money changing hands. We ordered a selection of vegetarian dishes online, and the process was easy to complete. Less than 45 minutes later, our order arrived. The delivery person was courteous. The flavours of the food were wonderful ... Our favourite being the aubergine. My photo is a bit of a mess, as I just dishes everything up into a bowl, but it was delicious. We'll be ordering again.

Really nice interesting food but the staff need to lower the music so customers can talk and hear. It is to create an ambiance not smother the customers. Very attentive staff serve much above average Indian dishes of some complexity. Highlights are the duck and the delicious scallops really juicy and very nicely spiced , I will return again and again.

We happened to visit this restaurant as we were shopping nearby and since it had good review we went it. The appearance is dull, moody and full of loud Hindi music playing. The restaurant was empty at 2100 hours and we were little sceptical about the order. The food we ordered was delicious and nothing else was good. Moving on, we were welcomed by a staff who showed us our seat and then another staff came by to take orders. Both of them either were tired or not interested to work that day, God know why they had such an attitude.! Literally they were only rushing to take orders and get done with it. Pushing to order more main courses is not at all acceptable ! The staff cannot decide how much should i order, such acts is only bringing shame to the restaurant and its owner. Getting the cheque was a long wait, earlier they wanted to close down quickly and now they were just gazing around. After asking for 3 times, he finally gave us the cheque. Charging 12.5 % service charge for this kind of service?. The concerned owner must take serious efforts to revamp its manpower to sustain in the market.

The restaurant is on a quiet street and can be opened pretty fully to the street, which was nice on a warm night. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful, and the chairs are extremely comfortable if you're lingering over your meal. Which you will want to do, because the food is delicious. I started with the kurkuri tokri chaat, which was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Followed that with the lamb biryani. Fantastic lamb, so tender and flavorful. Everybody else at my table was equally delighted with their meal. Next time we are visiting London, I think we will make it a point to go back.

We had a business lunch here & I have to say that both the food and service were amazing! We got 5* treatment from the minute we walked through the door. The waiter also recommend a few dishes to us, this was great as we got to try new things. We thoroughly enjoyed our work lunch (one of the very few we have had this year), the waiter made it extra special! Will definitely be back again very soon

I am so happy that we discovered this absolute gem. The food is unbelievably delicious, every dish was amazing and I want to go back there already. The staff are charming, they went above and beyond to make it a great experience to be there. They were attentive, efficient, had a good sense of humour and sang happy birthday with a yummy chocolate cake for our birthday girl. I'm now recommending this restaurant to all my friends because everyone needs to taste the food. I'd never heard of it before as it's quite unassuming, I'm so glad I got to go. It's a special place with special staff.

We were really looking forward to having a meal at the Salaam Namaste. Previous reviews had looked promising and its location was very convenient for us. The decor isn't quite the lavish affair described on their own website, in fact it all looks a bit tired. No-one was there to greet us on arrival which we thought odd. Eventually, someone turned up and we were given a table by the window which we were fine with. We ordered a couple of beers and set about looking at menu. We opted for a keralan fish curry (with lemon rice), the hyderabad biryani, scallops and some popadoms and chutneys to start. The popadoms were fine. That's where it ended. The scallops (there were three and this was a main) were over cooked and lost in the overpowering taste of the sauce. )The spicing of the biryani was completely wrong for the dish, there was very little meat and it was dry. The curry was inedible (I discovered after having one mouthful). The rice had a wedge of lemon on top as garnish, there was no infused flavour of lemon at all. We told the waiter about the curry and he said he would speak to the Chef. Nothing happened. When it came to paying, we raised the issue with the curry again and after some time, the waitress agreed to take the price of that dish off the menu. Even with that concession and the fact that we'd booked via Open Table for an early meal offer, the bill was steep. The beers were overpriced even by restaurant standards. After paying, there was a further conversation with the waitress about our experience when we told that the chef was new and didn't know what he was doing. It was a shame we hadn't been told that beforehand ...

After some difficulty, we found the Restaurant. We were looking forward to set menu of £ 17.00 for Vegetarian and £ 17.95 for Non Vegetarian. When we asked for this, we were told that it is only for Take Away. The web-site does not make it clear and we were very disappointed. The menu given was very expensive and service was poor as only one waiter was working and could not coupe. The vegetarian dishes we ordered was over charged and 12.5% service charge is not acceptable as we did not get what we wanted. The lacha paratha was very cold and they did not replace it and in the end we had to have garlic paratha. There was exceptional delays and we got very late, having started our dinner at 5.30pm. The train strike did not help. We think some honesty and transparency of the menu is required.

We tried 3 starters, vege samosas, paneer and coriander chicken. The starters were fairly good however when the mains arrived, aside from the prawn curry and chicken curry, the remainder of the dishes (rice and grilled meats) were average, particularity because the grilled meats were very dry. Furthermore, the chocolate cake with ice cream arrived lukewarm and fairly dry and the passionate fruit cheesecake likewise. I will not be returning here.

Ordered a lockdown takeaway that arrived 45 minutes early. It was missing a main course. Ordered through Deliveroo. Contacted the restaurant- the attitude stank. My options were to either wait an hour for the missing main course to arrive or walk down myself and collect it so am faced with the option of a congealed bunch of sides with a hot main course which turned up even later than they said. I have been a loyal customer of the restaurant as a dine in customer pre lock down - now never again.

Sallam Namaste used to be an exciting 'destination' restaurant, presided over by an adventurous chef from Karachi who created a really distinctive fusion cuisine. He must surely have left, since it is now an industry-standard 'Indian' restaurant. Sauces are heavy, especially one combined with delicate scallops. Portions of meat and fish are small-- part of the general price cutting in tough times. A meal for three with drinks cost over £180. Like many restaurants in this area it is drawing in very few midweek diners, and i fear for its future. Lovely waitstaff. But it is no longer exceptional, just OK.

Gem in the heart of bloomsbury, I went for dinner with my friend following very good reviews. The quality of the cooking and the flavours of the chicken korma abd the king prawns was a treat. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Superb. Definitely going back soon with family and friends. Would highly recommend.

We found Salaam Namaste just by a simple google search and what a find! The food was not the usual homogenous brown stew with assorted meats which so many central London Indian restaurants are. The food was interesting and decidedly fresh and homemade. The venison kebab starter was amazingly tender and tasty. The green prawns were a tour de force!

This restaurant is a delight. The staff were welcoming and helpful without being obtrusive. The food is way above average for an Indian restaurant with some interesting twists on favourites. I particularly enjoyed the dal mahani. The portion sizes are large so be prepared to take your leftovers back with you. We will be returning next when we are in the area. Thanks for such a delicious meal.
