Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just had probably the most unfriendly interaction I have ever experienced in a gin bar. Down from the north of England. Have visited the OC several times before and enjoyed it, even leaving a very favourable review. Tonight, arrived at 10:40 pm. Ordered 2 nice...gins which we were enjoying. At 10:57, we were asked to pour our remaining gin out of the glass into a plastic pot. Total bemusement. ?? It turned out we were being kicked out! Wow! He wanted his glasses back and was giving us plastic ones to go outside, presumably to wander the streets, sipping at our gin. This is all before their published closing time. No drinking up time! He professed he didn't want to be rude, but I can't think of anything more rude. Anyway, we left and walked past a nearby pub full of customers, some with full pints, happily supping up in their own seats and with their original glassware. BEWARE. Don't expect a friendly welcome here. They clearly wanted us out asap. Whatever happened to the concept of customer service? We would have happily finished our drinks and been gone by 10 past! Retreating north tomorrow. I doubt anyone up there will believe what just happened!More

This spot is great for a chill solo lunch. The food is fresh but the service is quick and the shrimp tacos were BEAUTIFUL the only problem was that there wasn’t more. Ate them before I could get a photo sorry not sorry!

Took a wrong turn while strolling through Shoreditch and came across this place. Wow! So glad we did! The staff were so friendly, we felt like we had known them for years by the time we left! We had a selection of food from the...menu so that we could each try a bit of each; the beef tacos, the shrimp po-boy, a pizza and the cheesecakes. Oh my lord. It was all so tasty! It was obviously homemade and fresh, can’t recommend it enough!More

Our group was enjoying a lovely afternoon in london and decided to pop into the oliver conquest as one of our groups recently departed family member had called this his local for sometime before he sadly passed. We decided to toast with a bottle of...champagne as a treat, all was well until the manager asked a member of staff to approach us and tell us that we had been undercharged for the champagne and we need to pay an extra £30 - this was as we poured our last glass. The manager made a clearly upset female member of staff ask us and of course we were surprised and taken a back. We queried this with the manager and his response was to ask us for the drinks back - at this point the server was clearly upset as unfortunately she had made and error at the till. The manager continued to ask for the cash, we paid the additional amount a we did not want the server to get into trouble - as we left we made our feelings clear and were to never come back - avoid this establishment like the plague - staff fantastic unfortunately management nothing short of dreadful and rude - shame on you!More

This is a really nice pub with friendly staff and good cocktails as well as beers. The sound level allowed for easy conversation, which is really important to me. We spent a very pleasant evening before having dinner at another good place recommended by the...staff. I will definitely recommend this to people who wants to have a drink while actually talking to their companions without having to shout to be heard.More

Came here with a group of friends during social distancing regulations and they were understanding - table service and following the rules. Went on a Tuesday which was 2 for 1 on spirits so we had a blast. Fun bar staff and great selection.

I have never written a review on tripadvisor and is saddens me to do this. I paid £60 for 6 gin and tonics. They tasted pretty rubbish. This used to be a guaranteed badass g and t but now It isn’t. It used to be...busy but not it is not. None of the gin matching with the flavourings they added. I had to ask for some lime to be added to the drinks. They told me that tonic water isn’t supposed to be chilled. But also that they didn’t have the fridge space to chill tonic water. So is it supposed to be chilled? I think so. We have visited at least 5 times in the last few years and it was always excellent, now not so. They admitted they diversified into serving other stuff eg craft beer. Don’t waste your money. A frustrating experience. When I questioned this all this the bar man said what do I expect from a tanqeruay gin and tonic, and that he had worked in 3 different gin bars. I wonder if they chilled their tonic water or not.More

Looking for a place to have something to eat, something simple and being on my own for the evening I passed this place and through 'ok I fancy a bugger and a pint. so in I went. the guy serving was pleasant enough so I...ordered and sat down with my Pint and a book'. And I waited. When the food arrived there were no knifes and forks it was fingers! Some ketchup was offered and arrived and I began to eat the burger, it was really greasy and not very nice but i had paid for it, the chips were cold and look like they had been shown to a cool fat fryer. either that or it had sat on the pass for so long someone should have spotted that it might be cold. But is just seemed that it was all too much trouble to provide me with something nice to eat that was hot. I was going to have a word, but the only person on the bar was not really interested in anyone accept the person standing directly in front of them. So I left. It just needs to do better, food should not be running in grease and it does not take a moment to check things.More

Had to write a review because I was so amazed by how lovely the staff were here. I can’t remember the name of the man who served us but he made our day. I was walking around for ages trying to find a gluten free...option and we came across this pub. I asked about a gluten free menu and unfortunately they didnt have one but they offered to make any of their items in a gluten free bun for me if i got my own from another place. The food was incredible and the staff there were so helpful and lovely and made our day. Highly recommend this place if you want good food.More
