For us Le Querce plays an important role in local life. It’s a slice of Sardinia on our doorstep. Le Querce daily with its deli/cafe is always full of very pleasant surprises so we’ve been a bit sad that it’s only open 3 days now....Last Sunday we went to the restaurant part, sat outside in the sun and had a really special 3 course meal and well worth the £39.50 a head.… It was a great menu …the food was beautifully cooked and presented. All in all a lovely food experience.More

I was really looking forward to going back to Le Querce after a long gap. Sadly it was a disappointing experience. The evening menu now requires you to have at least two courses, costing £29.80, plus an extra £4.80 for side dishes. Two of us...were almost 30 minutes late joining our group due to traffic problems but has to wait another 30 minutes before the orders were taken, with no offer of drinks or nibbles while we waited. The food was still good but our main was 6 not very big pieces of pasta stuffed with potato and cheese in a tomato sauce, which I felt was stingy for the price. One of our group only wanted a main course but we were charged £6.50 for the bread, cheese and olives she shared with another person on top of the set £29.80 for her 6 pieces of pasta. Another chose ice cream for her dessert, which is priced at £3 a scoop meaning her medium sized bowl of pasta with ragu was £26.80. I understand that costs have gone up since Covid but the combination of poor service, high cost and lack of generosity in portion size means that’s the last meal I’m likely to have at Le Querce. It may be because it’s winter but the range of ice cream flavours was far less interesting now as well. I wish I’d not gone back and only had the good memories!More

Our party of nine had a great night out yesterday! Between us we ordered across the specials, pasta, pizza, fish and meat and we were delighted with our choices. We were very happy with the red and white wines we ordered, the food arrived beautifully...presented and did not disappoint. Think we all managed to squeeze in a little dessert, everyone happy 😊 Thanks for super friendly service and delicious food, looking forward to coming back soon.More

Overpriced, awful atmosphere, average food, not allowed to choose one course only. You are obligated to have 2 or 3 courses. Opted for 2 courses @ £28.50 ,chose bowl of pasta and tart tartin. Puddings individually priced at £6.50 meaning the pasta cost £22.50!!! Pasta...was tasty. Tart tartin came by itself semi heated (hot and cold ) and without cream or ice cream . You had to pay an extra £2.50 to have ice cream , which would mean Paying £9 for a small slice of semi heated tart with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Main course of chicken, dry and tasteless, tiny amount of sauce on a bed of peas with a smear of puréed squash. To have a side of potatoes/ chips cost an extra £4.50 meaning that this tasteless dish cost £27 !! Chips tasted like they’d been cooked in stale oil! The restaurant smelled of off fish!! Will NEVER eat there again.More

The sea bass was horribly overcooked and fishy tasting. The prawns with it were like rubber. Guys, don’t even think about wasting your money at this place. You’ll be as sorry as we were.

We ordered fish yesterday, the special and the monk fish, we asked if the special was boney and was told’i don’t think so’ Both dishes were made up of mainly bone, there was very little flesh on either dish We complained and expected a replacement,...this didn’t happen but they did take some money off the bill- 2 of us left feeling very hungry We paid over £100 for 4 scallops, some sardines and terrible cuts of fish I have been here before but will not be returningMore

My husband and I live locally, and after a few years of intending to pop by, we finally made our first visit last summer (2019). We had a wonderful meal, with plenty of choice; both a standard menu and additional Weekend Specials, since the chef...visited the fish markets on a Friday. The food was delicious, it was exceptionally good value, we were made to feel very welcome, and all round a wonderful night was had by all!! Unfortunately Post Covid things have changed a great deal. I don't mind that the menu is now much smaller (that's not an issue) but the quality of food is now average, but worse than that the prices are extortionate. I do get that things have to change because of all the Covid hardships, but I'm afraid locals will no longer be able to support this restaurant at the prices they are now charging for distinctly average food. Pizza/Italian restaurants are very abundant in the Honor Oak area, so Le Querce need to take heed and improve their offering to survive! Not what it once was!! Pretty disappointing.More

Visited for dinner with my wife on Saturday evening. The restaurant was busy which was reassuring. This place is not cheap (especially for zone 3 south London!) so my expectations are high. We went for a 2 course set menu (£26.50) and shared a bottle...of Prosecco (£25). For starters we both had the homemade tagilitelle with beef ragu... Soooo dry and bland, neither of us finished. There was also no offer of cheese or black pepper (maybe Covid but can’t see why?). Mains came out pretty soon after but were sadly both also pretty unexceptional, duck breast (cold) with some veg and chips (had to pay extra £4 for these) and wife had a fish dish she didn’t enjoy and again had to pay an extra £4 for a side dish to make it an actual meal. After a pretty disappointing dinner we ordered the bill And coffee, which took 25 minutes and three requests to arrive (!!). What frustrated me the most was the automated iPad style payment tablet, which suggest a number of service charge options which start at 15% going up to 25%.... Of course you can adjust this but to suggest that your local customers should consider no less than a 15% tip is quite insulting in my opinion (especially for me who had to wait almost half an hour for the privilege of paying). Two course meal for 2 with wine and service (a generously edited 12%) was £103. Worth it? Definitely not.More

A firm family favourite since more than 10 years, when we stumbled on it in search of a place where we could have our (not so well-planned) wedding lunch. Amazing food and wonderful staff. We go there for dinner and lunch and parties!

My brother and family live close to Le Querce and it’s where we all choose to go for celebratory meals...and any other excuse we can think of. The food is always excellent, imaginative if that’s what you want but simple pasta with meat ragu if...that’s your thing. The owners are great too, happy to recommend or serve you the same meal every time. Highlights have included savour chocolate gnocchi with sweet potato purée, tuna meatballs and perfect scallops. The pasta is home made and gorgeous (sheep’s cheese ravioli is divine). Then there are the ice creams and sorbets Again the range from the standard flavours done very well to the more challenging garlic or onion. Sorbets are also way beyond the average: pear and Pernod is my favourite, though strawberry and cassis is close second. Try the aubergine ice cream: it’s out of this world.More

Had a wonderful meal at this fantastic restaurant which I have known of for many years but hadn’t visited until now with my dear wife. Excellent. What a gem! Right under my nose!! Will be revisiting very soon. The home made ice cream is totally...off the scale! Very interesting flavours, who would of thought it possible in sunny Sarf’ London... GrazieMore
