I've been visiting this pub since I was a child, so I know it's in a great location and has a good beer garden. I was taking someone who didn't know the area on this occasion and all I can say is we had a nice drink in the garden, but the customer service was underwhelming. This is clearly a... More

After a bracing ramble on restored (after the controversial Ponds Project) Hampstead Heath, my wife and I popped into the bustling Freemason's Arms pub and restaurant. We ordered our drinks and waited at the bar for about 5 minutes until a table became available - we had our dog with us and so were understandably restricted to the bar area.... More

Came here in January and I could not fault it . However we went today and the experience could not be anymore different. Firstly they could not serve any drinks from the taps as the gas had gone !! So all drinks had to be bottled, ok a problem with their taps , can't be helped. However the food ........ More

Went there with a friend. The place itself is nice and the staff friendly. Not much choice for ales and beers, for being a big pub. What was quite shocking was the size of the main courses. The "steak" is half the palm of a hand (to give an idea) and it costs around 16£. It doesn't even come with... More

Ideally located for Hampstead Heath, this large spacious gastropub has lots of tables inside and on the terrace. Busy at weekends. Good selection of beers, and a reasonable menu selection, including vegetarian options. However , Sunday roasts were overcooked, and Yorkshire Pudding was much too dry. Other food choices were only okish standard pub grub. Service was disappointingly slow.

Reading some of the reviews I was a bit dubious about booking. However, all I can say is that my experience was brilliant! Perhaps the majority of reviewers only feel compelled to write if they have a bad experience so perhaps I can even things up! Service was prompt and when I asked for wine suggestions they were given to... More

The service was very poor, the Sunday roasts were dry and and not very appealing (the Yorkshire pudding appeared to be very dry and somewhat stale). The ladies and gents restrooms were dirty and smelt disgusting. I will never return to this establishment again nor will I recommend it. I will be sticking to the Spainiards Inn and the Bull... My experience of Freemasons Arms at lunch yesterday was a very brief 10 minute one. My partner & I walked in at 1.15PM after a very bracing walk on the heath and hoping for some lunch. Visited in December for dinner and was shown to an uncleared and sticky table full of dirty glasses and leftover food. Half of the menu options weren't available but we still ordered as too tired to go elsewhere. Bland and overpriced food had been plonked on our plates with no thought about presentation. Drinks order was wrong and a landline... More

A table of 10 of us for lunch. Very disappointed with the food. There was a set menu which had a reasonable selection of food. However the food arrived all at different times cold and tasteless. Needed to send it back to be reheated - service was slow. Lovely setting but poor food and slow service. Shame. Very average.
