I reluctantly leave this review cause this place is so great I don't want people running it! But truth is they do deserve a very good review, so here it is. Nice ambience, nice staff, nice tea, nice crowd, nice place. There's nothing not to like about Candid if you're the right kind of person for this place. Love its... More

Well, where do I start! I arrived at this café really impressed by the look of the outside garden. However the weather would not permit me to risk sitting outside and I had made a reservation for a meeting with friends for the day. As I walked up to stairs I must say I was very shocked at the state... More

upstairs on a cold day or the courtyard on a sunny one, this is a good escape from central london. bohemian decor, friendly staff, reasonable, healthy food.

On their website, it says £12 for a bottle of house red wine. When I went to pay, it was £17. I told the girl who served me and her response was 'oh, I don't know about the website'. They should update the site or not have a menu online at all.

What a very strange place this is. You climb two flights of narrow stairs in an undistinguished back-street building, go through the door and find yourself in a mock-gothic room with candelabras on a huge dining table and lots of small candle-lit tables round the side. It is like straying into a film set. A perfect place for a Christmas... More

Only visited here for coffee, but would definitely sample the food. Spacious and refreshingly different in its` decor. Good variety of seating and tables. Friendly staff. I wish there were more cafes like this instead of the boring, overpriced chains. A great find.

Joined a co worker for lunch and stumpled up to this second floor gem in Islington. Decor is hipster retro and there is the option of joining the long table or more private single tables. Surprising collection of eclatic object d'art and the sandwiches made fresh to order with plenty of salad we're spot on.

Perfect tea and cake, earl grey and pear frangipan. Lovely quirky decor and relaxed atmosphere, well worth the climb up the stairs!

Visited last weekend and was trying th have something light due to a planned lunch. Well that was just impossible !! The menu is crammed full of dishes that have "eat me" stamped all over it. I had the hash brown potatoes with chorizo red onion with fried eggs and feta cheese. My wife took a lighter option involving poached... More

A fun place to eat. The small menu has multiple veggie options Everything was very fresh. It is like having a home cooked meal at your eccentric aunts. You feel arty just eating there. It is for all ages old and young. The 3 flights of stairs are a bit steep. The exercise will allow you to eat one of... More
