I feel that 5 is not enough!!! F&Ms is my most favoruite place for tea! The store is magical, classy, historic and just everything you could dream for! The staff are fantastic and the afternoon tea is by far the best I have had in London- better than The Ritz.

Excellent food and service and a good way to restore yourself either during or after a visit to the store

The coffee we ordered was cold. The restaurant environment was very cold and the chairs were old and dirty. The food was average but very small portions. A discretionary service charge was added to our bill which we asked them to remove having had quite poor waiting staff - the restaurant manager then came over to question why we had... More

Excellent food and service, a lovely English treat that made you feel special. There was something very historical about being there. The atmosphere is lovely.

I visited Fortnum and Mason with two friends as a 'treat' - it was a little on the expensive side but we decided to go as an experience. The afternoon tea experience was great - I often go with friends or relatives for cream teas in various places around the UK, but this one rates quite highly on my list.... More

My sister took us to the newly opened F&M Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon for a special occasion tea - and it was fabulous but expensive! Felt very spoilt and decadent; great for a special occasion (only!)

As ever , it;s as much a bout the traditional experience as the food. The service is absolutely top notch, and you are always made to feel special.

First time I came I gave this a four star rating, I want to retract. Visited a second time the service was bad and the ice cream slightly crystally but I assumed it was a one off. Came back a third time and it was atrocious. Long waits, terrible service, poor quality ice cream. It's the first and only time... More

Couldn't get a table upstairs in the Jubilee (or whatever it's called), so we defaulted to The Gallery, the restaurant on the ground floor. A lot less fancy, but large and spacious. Service was distracted. But the tea was good (a silver pot for each of us), and the pastries adequate to very nice. Since we didn't have other options,... More

An experience, eating and shopping is not like this anywhere else. You must visit the store as well as eat there for the full effect..

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
