Very surprised to read some of the reviews from visitors at TigerBay Shisha and Carlton Lounge as we have always had excellent service and the food is some of the best Indian dishes we have had. We were seated inside the TigerBay Shisha Lounge however as this has open sides all round and even an open roof in warmer days or nights, we felt completely safe and COVID protected. The evening was very busy but had a great atmosphere and we didn’t feel cramped or as if we were too near to other customers. The music especially with the appearance of DJ Shraii gives something a little bit extra special than other venues. All members of staff wore face masks and we noticed they politely reminded any customers to use their masks when not seated at their tables. The food is always hot and you can hear the sizzle plates sizzling as the food is served. Portions are really generous and we usually find it hard choosing from all the delicious dishes on offer. The mocktails are especially good and the fruity versions topped with fresh and sweet fruit. We have not tried the Shisha varieties however talking to people we met last week, they said the choices are good and flavours excellent quality. So even without Shisha being available at the moment under Covid rules, TigerBay Shisha Lounge is a great venue. We are looking forward to spending many more summer evenings especially in the garden area which is beautifully filled with gorgeous plants and makes you feel you are on holiday and not just on an evening out. Keep doing what you do so well TigerBay Shisha and Carlton Lounge.

Loving the refurbishment which has been completed to such an excellent standard and craftsmanship. Both the restaurant and Shisha lounge are very comfortable and you feel safe and protected by the attentive staff throughout your visit. The food is delicious, the garden is lush with planters and even home grown vegetables, the VIP area is a retreat away from daily hustle and bustle and looking forward to seeing the whisky and cigar room to open soon too. Would definitely recommend everyone to visit but be prepared you will be hooked and won’t want to go anywhere else. 👏👏👏

First time visit to Tiger Bay Service was excellent Shisha was Top quality The food / desserts were delicious. The outdoor seating arrangements and environment was great i would definitely visit again and recommend this place if you want a enjoyable experience. Shout out to Ali for the top service and looking after us see you again.

This place is a disappointment. I went here with my boyfriend yesterday and the service was terrible. Whilst the Indian food from the restaurant next door they serve is very nice and can’t be faulted (apart from it being overly expensive) the actual service in the shisha lounge is abysmal unless you pay £70 per head to go in the VIP section the staff aren’t bothered about you. After paying £14 for one cocktail it came and tasted of pure petrol. We had one sip and asked if it could be switched as we couldn’t drink it as it tasted so bad and sour. The staff weren’t interested and would not swap it without charging us and were very unhelpful. If you pay that much for one drink good customer service would be to allow you to change it so you’re happy. Additionally the Shisha was over £30 and was very harsh and not great. And the staff were slow and changing the coals as we weren’t sat in the vip. Unless you’re willing to spend a lot of money on VIP I would avoid this place at all costs.

I came here on a Friday night at 11.30pm with 2 friends. We were in the queue for 30 minutes before being let in. Unfortunately we were not seated in the shisha lounge, and in error we were taken to the bar next door by a bald man in a tiger shirt where he told us to buy a drink and wait again to be seated. He assured us he would seat us. We then waited another 40 minutes... no drinks provided and not seated in the main lounge. Whilst waiting we noticed he was seated with friends smoking shisha. We flagged our concerns multiple times with staff who were all very busy, running around and working to no structure. Very disorganised- Nobody seemed to know what was going on. We had to beg to at least receive the drinks we paid for. Eventually we were seated by the front of house girl who was very rude (short girl, hair up, glasses). She harshly told us 2 of our party needed to sit on the small stools, when there was plenty of comfortable sofa space adjacent, giving no reason why. The table was not cleaned prior to us being seated, of which she then proceeded to spray and wiped the surface in front of us. We were pointlessly told to fill out a check and trace whilst in the queue however there were no social distancing measures nor hand sanitation station inside. None of the staff wore masks or gloves. Breeding ground for any virus. We noticed a sign enforcing a dress code however inside many of the clientele were very casually dressed (shorts, trainers and sliders) and appeared very juvenile. Their minimal effort and spending appeared to be more of a priority. We were given the shisha menu but no one came to take our order having been now seated for 20 minutes. I managed to get the attention of a waiter to request the food menu, only to be told the kitchen closed at 1... it had just turned 1. Had anyone cared about the poor experience we were having, they would have ensured when we were seated, we were served promptly to ensure the rest of our experience was salvaged. Nevertheless this was the final straw for us, so we walked out. At this point, no one even acknowledged us leaving. I have been to Tigerbay before as this is my local shisha lounge and was highly embarrassed that I recommended this place for a nice evening with my friends, just to receive the worst customer service in our lives. Thoroughly ruining our celebrations. I sincerely hope the management review my experience, provide sufficient training to their staff and implement structure to prevent other customers having a lacklustre experience and to secure their business longevity for their benefit.

Was a terrible visit Moment we turned up until the end all staff were rude. Booking in the gentleman was busy on his phone then passed a clipboard to sign in due to Covid. We was told to make our own way to end of the restaurant and someone will find us. We did but did not know who was staff and who wasn’t. I manage to grab a staff member only because what seemed a manager was telling this waiter to move something to which this waiter stuck his fingers up at the manager behind his back. Finally someone directed us to a table. The menu that was given to us had fallen apart and had what look like dried up food still on it. Was sat for 15min before anyone decided to ask for our order. We wasn’t not impressed considering the restaurant wasn’t even full. We over heard over people moaning about the service so we decided to leave. I asked for my deposit back but was told I can only have it through a takeaway, if I waited 15mins to be served I don’t want to be waited longer for a takeaway? I was refused my money back and was laughed at.

we went there for sheesha as like others come across this lounge over insta or internet so wanted to give it a go. we sat at a table and placed the order and the bill figure didnt add up and upon raising questions about it were told it seating charge which doesn't make any sense of course you can stand there or have food or stuff on the road. then upon questioning staff had no clue and just said its policy and thats it. this didn't ended there after placing order then we were told either we should pay upfront at our table or we have to render our bank card to the staff which is ridiculous and even makes no sense and is point less. then even after going through all after a while went we wanted to order few drinks we were again made subject to pay seating charge and again this is ridiculous and a complete rip off. the upper management doesn't seem to care at all as we were told upon questioning these baseless lounge policies. the staff told us clearly they have no control or say in these baseless rip off policies and are helpless.

I went with 3 friends we booked a table , when we arrived we was told we must smoke a shisha but a member in our party doesn’t smoke and only wanted to eat and drink .. we was moved in the restaurant because of this .. we spent over £200 on food and drinks and was also charged around £19 seating fee ... I asked to remove this they said no ! How can we eat a meal standing up ? The restaurant was empty ! We thankfully had a lovely friendly waiter an Asian guy he saved the day as all other staff was so rude . We explained yet again one member won’t smoke and he can’t be made to , eventually we was allowed in the shisha lounge on a condition we buy one shisha instead of two . We moved into shisha lounge and yet again rude staff as it’s meant to be £23 for a shisha but again we was charged £27.50 as there is yet more fees to pay on top . I won’t be returning here I’d rather spend my money anywhere else . My friends feel the same .

I made a booking on a Wednesday for a Saturday and a £20 deposit was required. Unfortunately I had to cancel on the Thursday as one of the guest had tested positive for covid-19. The cancellation policy on the website stated that cancellations Within 24hrs of the date of the booking means that deposit can be held. As I was cancelling over 48hrs before the date of the booking, this was not a problem for me and I was liable to get my deposit back. I called the restaurant to confirm this, and I was told that my deposit will come back in 3/5 working days. It’s been over 2 weeks, nothings been returned to my account, I’ve emailed, called, dm’d them and they literally ignore everything. I posted a negative honest review and after my review was posted, the company changed their terms and conditions to “all bookings are non-refundable” to try and cover their tracks however this was not the terms and conditions at the time of my booking and cancellation. I’ve read several reviews of them trying to cheat people of their money. How can I be charged for a restaurant I’ve never once stepped foot in. And the government guidelines have clearly stated for the past year that if someone tests positive they must self isolate?!? So ridiculous

I had a good night but mainly because me and my friend made it a good night. The service is poor and some of the security are rude and and have no manners. On arrival we found out that they only took cash however the cash machine inside the venue did not take mastercard? i only had mastercards on me and the manager told me i must leave and take out cash at a near by shop. It ended up with me saying no as it was unfair and in my booking this was not mentioned and then being allowed to pay by card on one if their card machines. Other than the VIP lounge was beautiful and the drinks are nice but nothing special. The salt and chilli prawns were in fact beautiful and the music was good. The choc brownie and ice-cream was ok, nothing special, but the shisha was very nice and sweet. Personally, because of the poor service and rude security i wont be returning to the kingsbury site however i will try out hanger lane and hopefully it will be better.

This is probably the worse restaurant/bar I have been to in my life. My friend secured the VIP section which required a £15 deposit per person which is fine I understand on 4th November 2023. Upon arrival, we were charged £60 per person which would come off the final bill. Suspiciously it was cash only! Again, way overpriced but I accepted that they were not willing to budge. Then it got worse… The waiters got our orders wrong multiple times and kept forgetting to bring the basics (water, ketchup etc) after repeatedly asking them at least 3 times for the basic amenities. The bar was no busy so I’m confused as to how they got the order wrong so many times! All of this could be forgotten HOWEVER, This is when it was over the top. As I was eating the lamb biryani, I felt a long strand of string type material in my mouth. When I pulled it out I saw a long strand of hair that was embedded within the lamb biryani! I have never been so disgusted in my life. I was nearly sick! I never received an apology and the manager never came to see if everything was ok after this incident. The only “offer was to remake the food or substitute”. I choose a different option (chicken fried rice) but the food was cold and too oily. After 2 bites I couldn’t eat anymore. I said to them I refuse to pay for the food especially with hair inside which after a little Resistance they eventually agreed to. So this is officially the worse bar/restaurant I have been to in my life! They didn’t seem to concerned that I had hair in my food and it was “business as usual”. I await tiger bay to contact me to resolve this dreadful night situation which I cannot forget.

Aviod Aviod. Staff are extremely rude. Cash bookings and cash on bill they do not take cards and force you to spend minimum £50. Poor service waited 30mins to get drinks served. Really bad experience in general and will not be going back her.

Had booked a table in the lounge for 5 people for my 23rd birthday. I had specifically chosen this venue, even though it is far away from me, for the non-tobacco shisha so that all my guests could try it. I was genuine very excited and had already chosen from the menu online which shisha and cocktails I’d wanted to try. We booked our Uber and ended up arriving 9 minutes late due to traffic (40 minute journey). The staff were kind enough to let keep our table, but when we entered to do track and trace, they said it was cash only and for us to walk to the nearest cash machine, but not to worry as we would not lose our place. There was only one cash machine nearby, it already had a queue and all 5 of us had to withdraw money. We came back to the queue and were then told we had lost our table and had to queue up. The security guard there was very apologetic as he was there when we were told we would not lose our table. So after an expensive 40 minute Uber, standing outside in the cold and rain, taking a dear amount of money from my bank account, we were told we could not go in. Almost ruined my birthday and will certainly not try to visit again as I was so disappointed with my first visit. It is upsetting to be told our table is safe and to let us go and take money from our accounts and then come back and be told otherwise, I would have just joined the queue earlier or gone elsewhere!

I was absolutely shocked and disappointed with the poor lack of guidelines being followed. They do NOT allow you to pay by card!!! Which makes no sense considering the current situation with COVID-19 and this being compulsory. How are you strict about customers having the track and trace app but not allowing customers to pay by card. Instead they HAVE TO pay by cash using tigerbays cash machine which charges you extra. Make this make sense!!!!!!

Diana was a star meeting all of our needs, despite us being such a large group. Her non stop consistent catering for all of us made us feel really comfortable and helped us enjoy the night even more. All orders were taking correctly and caused zero hassle for us the whole night. Would definitely comeback just for that type of customer service!
