This was our first time at Sake no Hana and we loved it! We had the Umai Sushi Saturday menu which was 7 delicious courses with a cocktail and half a bottle of Louise Roederer champagne included for £49. The meal was excellent value for money - really fantastic flavours and quality - the beef main course was melt in... More

Visited on a mid weekday evening which meant is was quieter than usual which was nice. The restaurant is set inside a previous bank building which gives it a unique design with escalators going to the main area and floor to ceiling windows. All the staff from the girl that took our coats to the one who took our orders... More

This was a surprise for my wife's birthday as she's always wanted to see Sushi Chefs in action and they have a counter top area here where you can watch exactly that. It's a great experience. Roshan and Bijay interacted with us all the way through when we asked and equally left us to it when we weren't asking questions.... More

Lovely decor (though taking an elevator to the basement is a little unorthodox), friendly staff including a helpful and knowledgeable sommelier and a menu that is full of appealing items. All the ingredients for a successful restaurant. However, while some of the dishes were excellent (the lamb chops were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour, the sea bass with champagne... I visited this restaurant on the 3rd December with a family group of 7 to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was a Saturday and we had the Umai Sushi Saturday menu (5 regular two veggie). This included an interesting choice of cocktail (we chose different ones and a lot of sharing went on!) and generous amounts of Louis Roederer champagne.... More

After enjoying the pre-dinner cocktails so much on our first trip we've been back twice since purely for the cocktails - and they are cheaper than many other places in London.

Sake no Hana has changed a lot over the years. The ambience remains nice with the plain decor and large windows giving it a special atmosphere. However, the last few years have seen the quality and choice of Sake go down significantly and the food isn't what it used to be back in its heyday. Ingredients aren't near as fresh... More

Description
Sake no Hana bar and restaurant is housed on the first floor of a modernist Grade II listed building in the heart of St James, offering modern Japanese dining. The a la carte menu provides a variety of hot and cold appetisers, charcoal grill, Toban and Kamameshi dishes, while sushi and sashimi are... prepared to order at the 13 seat sushi bar. A carefully selected list of sakes, Japanese whiskeys and other wines, spirits and liqueurs complement the dishes offered in the restaurant. Sake no Hana's interiors were designed my esteemed architect Kengo Kuma and the bar includes a beautiful futuristic chandelier, offering the perfect space for post work cocktails.

The bar is also a beautiful space for private parties of up to 60 guests for a standing canape event, or can host up to 25 guests seated for an exclusive private dining experience. Monday to Thursday, 12pm - 2.45pm, 6pm - 11pm; Friday, 12pm - 2.45pm, 6pm - 11.30pm, Saturday 12pm - 4pm, 6pm - 11.30pm

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
