Ordered a takeaway after a long day. I am very particular about my food but was encouraged by the mainly positive reviews. Unfortunately, although the food was ok, it wasn't great and some dishes were not well executed. The smoked chicken was thick and dry with a strange sweet after taste which didn't live up to the promise with the... More

I was so delighted the North China managed to fit us in with short notice. However delight turned to despair and dehydration when we were given one menu between the four of us, other menus swiped from us for no reason and were then left unattended for 25mins, and then waited another 25mins for drinks to arrive. Our table was... More

Food was above average high street Chinese. Sizzling prawns, and fillet steak (£16) in chilli sauce were excellent. Kids loved the lemon chicken too. Staff were friendly enough, no complaints with how we were served at all. But, and it is quite a big but, it took for an age for the food to arrive. Mains were in region of... More

I have been going here for 30yrs and food is very good. Chicken and cashew in yellow bean sauce is outstanding. Service excellent and Laurence continues to run a great business. Highly recommended, worth booking.

Booked a table for 8:30 pm. Arrived on the dot, there was another couple also waiting for their 8:30 booking. The restaurant was full and most diners were just getting their food; I didn't see a table becoming free before 9:30. The waiter looked relieved when I declined his offer to wait for for a particular table; the customers were... More

The food was delicious. The best Chinese food I have had in London in my 6 months of being here. The service was terrific and very private. The only downside was the portions were quite small luckily we order alot of food so we weren't hungry by the ending. I will definitely go again soon though. I highly recommend this... More

A wonderful way to celebrate Chinese new year...or any other day for that matter. An unhurried meal of excellent quality enjoyed in pleasing surroundings. The waiting staff are friendly and attentive without being in any way obtrusive. The dishes on offer are, in the main, quite familiar - but all are cooked to perfection with an extra little touch of... More

We enjoyed here so much we went twice during our 5 day London visit. I would highly recommend Menu A and spend a bit extra and add deep fried crispy chilli beef. We have been going here for 36 years and the flavours of the dishes and the sauces are the same now as they were then. This is Chinese... More

We have been going here for a year and this place never fails on service and great food. It can easily complete with the high end restaurants in central London and I wouldn't go anywhere else because I know it won't be as good. The crispy duck and kung po prawns are my favourite dishes by far.
