The venue is dark , grubby and in many ways lacking any atmosphere one would associate with a place to eat. The food was expensive and the half duck pancakes ,dry .The cucumber and leek that accompanied the duck wasn't fresh.I wouldn't go there again.I honestly dont see what all the fuss is about.Overpriced underwhelming food in a dark ,... 2 months ago I met my friend for a dinner as the last time I saw her was years ago. Anyway, she announced me that she was pregnant as things changed since we saw last time. Now, talking about the service and food it was ok. The place is more like a bar than a restaurant but that's fine as... More

Used to love this place but recently had a terrible experience here made even worse by a terrible manager handling a complaint me had with our food. Felt as though I was an inconvenience not a customer. Never again.

Recently Visited the Drunken Monkey with some friends and loved the food and the venue, but did not like the service. Although they were nice enough to give us a table without any prior reservation, once we were at the table, they told us they had that table already booked for a party, 45 minutes later. We could therefore enjoy... More

We went as a group of six at happy hour and happily consumed a number of fresh AND half price cocktails! This was followed by a fabulous feed of multiple dishes. This was our third visit to the restaurant and we weren't disappointed. Terrific value and a filling and tasty meal.

Visited the drunken monkey after it came recommended - such a disappointment! Customer service, wrong orders, staff unsure about what dishes contained & food was average at best.

A friend and I went here, and at first, looking at the menu of food and cocktails, we were looking forward to eating there. However, the customer service was so poor that we left early and refused to pay the service charge that they include in the bill. 1. The moment my friend arrived at the venue someone was already... It's definitely a nice intimate place with fantastic tasty food. We ordered a variation of small plates which was perfect and filling rather then a big plate of food. Definitely a nice cute place to add to the list.

Visited the restaurant with a bunch of friends and had the lunch time set menu. Good value for the amount of food received, it does come out a bit hap hazard which would be my only criticism. But otherwise an enjoyable experience.

We were in the mood for Dim Sum and happened to walk past this place. The dishes are all reasonably priced and were cooked well. I especially enjoyed the dumplings and the pork buns. One can easily dine for under ten quid here and Sundays are all day haply hour, cocktails at half price! Definitely worth a visit.

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
