Appalling, ignorant serving staff who then lie to superior after being made to apologise. Disgusting

This place really let our family down ,we couldn’t get in to start with I’m on elbow crutches my sister has a stick when we were eventually let in all our family were their ,it was a sixtieth wedding anniversary and this place let them...down very badly ,table cloths were missing off one table ,we tried to order drinks they never turned up even though they had been written down ,about 3/4 hour later a you girl kindly stayed until she bought the drinks to us,then we had to wait ages to order food ,the host had to wait until last to be served with her food even though it was her anniversary we were celebrating ,the ones who ordered fish said it was raw in the middle on relative went home feeling unwell my sister in her eighties had salmon and prawns she was up all night feeling nauseas having to hold a bucket whilst sitting on the loo sweating profusely. We travelled from Nottingham to celebrate this special occasion with our family ,but this eating place let them down very very badly I will never eat there againMore

Visit this pub regular and service is always slow but after tonight's fiasco I will never return!!! Rang to book a table to watch England game managed to get a table as someone had cancelled. Turned up at 5.45 to be told no table for...us but guy spoke to manager who remembered booking us in. Ordered and received our drinks in 20mins. Waited as many others did for someone to take another order. Received these drinks at 8.30. went to ask where our drinks were in this time and guy who looked like manager supervisor said they were really busy and till had gone off and we're trying to catch up on drinks.....all lies as other peoples drink were arriving. No apology ....disgusting service!!! Also 2 men snorting coke in the men's toilets...classy place!!More

A Sunday carvery 2 course meal, main and starter for a fiver, pudding extra, what's not to like, Drink orders at the table the when called up you go to the carvery, the servers plate up your meal, you choose, 4 meats on offer plus...mushy peas and crackling, not all pubs serve that, Tables well spaced out and plenty of hand gel on offer, A good fresh meal + pudding + a pint for less than £12, bargain, This place is getting more popular each week, we have already booked our next one, AlanMore

Lovely food and trying reallly hard to raise the profile of the establishment. Had a lovely meal during the August "Dine out to Help Out Scheme". Years since we have last eaten here and they are really trying to improve things. On our visits the...service and food was excellent. Good COVID control measures in place, queuing at the bar spoils the experience a little and the venue lacks a bit of atmosphere, it feels a bit cold, but as winter draws in if they can improve the lighting and have the fire on it would feel welcoming. Really liked the cutlery being in plastic bags. All staff very attentive and professional. Our food was really nice, well cooked and good quality. We will certainly visit again and the current offers are amazing.More

After wanting to try here for a while from seeing their posts and offers, we decided we couldn’t miss the 2 for £12 offer and 25% off too. The parmos were lovely along with the homemade chips, which is always a bonus. We were happy...with the overall experience and COVID regulations that were in place.More

Us Teesside bloggers often draw the short straw when it comes to North East meet-ups... we seem to get forgotten about a little, so me and a couple of my Instagram friends took matters into our own hands and decided to meet (socially distanced) for...the very first time 🙌🏻 after a bit of debate, we chose to visit The Old Poste House, a spot that all three of us had been eyeing up - their social media game is on point and we were practically drooling over their photos 😍 Attached to the Sporting Lodge Inn, The Old Poste House is somewhere that is somewhat unassuming, but the menu and food are absolutely phenomenal, so I highly recommend you check it out 👌🏻 All three of us spent a lifetime pouring over the menu to make our choices, but everything sounded SO good. In the end, I chose the lamb kofta to start 🍖 I LOVE a kofta and this was so much better than I expected. The lamb was spiced perfectly and it was cooked so beautifully 🤤 plus, the yogurty sauce that was served alongside was stunning! A match made in heaven. For my main, I stuck to my gut and went for a parmo. I was so keen to compare it to other parmos I’ve tried, and at first glance, I thought this one might not be the best, but believe me when I say that it was INCREDIBLE 🍗🧀 the chicken was juicy and crisp from the breadcrumbs, and it was loaded with slightly salty and gooey bechamel sauce 🤤 the cheese was golden and delicious, and those chunky chips were EVERYTHING! The lovely lot also gave us three of their desserts to sample and it’s so hard to say which was the best... they were all out of this world! But I think it’s the sticky toffee that takes the crown 👑 it was super light, but warm, soft and soaked with toffee sauce 😍 The three of us ended up chatting for 3 hours and the time just flew by! It was absolutely lush to meet some fellow foodies in real life and to get on like a house on fire 🔥 I can’t wait for our next outing! All of the staff at The Old Poste House looked after us, checking we were ok with our food and chatting to us, which is a lovely accompaniment to great food!More
