Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was treated like a second class citizen as hadn't booked a seat. This is a pub but does not like Walk-ins. Really rude waitress who looked at me disgusted that I might Walk-in to a pub and order beer and ask to see menu. Unless...you book a seat don't go here as you'll be made to feel very unwelcome.More

Fantastic pub with large beer garden/yard. Very polite/friendly/helpful staff. We had a Sunday lunchtime tapas, sharing 5 dishes (each around the £6 mark). They were all delicious 👍🏽👍🏽. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Will certainly be heading here again on our next visit to...NorwichMore

We visited on a Wednesday night in a group of seven. The staff were welcoming and friendly - and super accommodating about us needing to pay separately. The food was great - we shared small plates between us, with decent a choice for vegans and...veggies. Good vibes all round. Thanks for a great evening.More

Wandering around Norwich and needed some lunch so we came here. So worth it! We had a comfy seat by the fire, the service was fantastic and the food delicious. It was really well priced and we came away satisfied and I thought it was...so good I've been telling loads of people, although I've got to re-tell them as being a kiwi and not living here, my navigational skills are not up to par! We had lamb sliders, thai salmon and prawn cakes, salad and cajun chicken goujons chips and fries - all very tasty and shareable.More

Having booked a couple of weeks ago for a a celebratory Saturday lunchtime with friends and colleagues I had to change numbers at the last minute which was no issue. I had pre-ordered various tapas dishes and these were served together with some extras ordered...after we arrived. The staff were all lovely and helpful. The food looked and tasted good. The pub was quite busy and had a nice atmosphere. I would recommend a visit and will be going back again soon.More

I’ve been a customer of this pub on and off, for over 25 years. I’m ex military, and I’m now disabled, walking with a stick… After buying a round of drinks, and accidentally knocking them over, because of my disability, I actually got thrown out...of this bar because of my disability. I have never been so disappointed in an organisation in my life./… I would also like to reiterate, the beer has gone Up above the rate of inflation . The pub is lost all of its original values, and it’s now “pretentious, and It’s lost its original values… Quite frankly it is mismanaged by moronsMore

We attended for our monthly book club meet for tapas. We were served promptly but a friendly young lady. The three of us ordered a bottle of red and 9 dishes of tapas to share. All of which were served hot and tasted great. All...reasonably priced. We will definitely return.More

Three of us went in for a late Sunday lunch and we were so lucky to have landed on you! The pork belly, which we all had as it looked so delicious, was wonderful as were the fixings. We also had a portion of sausage...meat stuffing and that was really tasty, too. So tasty, really good value (exceptional, even) and drinks (1 cider/1beer/1 wine) were also fine. We wished we’d had space for more but we simply didn’t. Completely recommended, thank you all.More

It’s a beautiful old building on Bethel St and serves a decent range of beers as well as a hand-pulled real cider. However none of the ales I tried tasted like they were well-kept. Roast dinners were on the lower end of the price range...and the quality matched. It’s a pity because it’s nearly a great pub.More
