Oh my god! Shocking - most offensive manager ever. Avoid at all costs! Witnessed the manager berating co vid 19 testers who wanted to leave leaflets on the tables to encourage more testing whilst at the forum for the week.

I was here recently and meet friends at this café occasionally. For me, it's a bit of a failsafe/backup option if I can't think of anywhere else to meet people. In my opinion, it's a little pricey but not outrageous compared to similar nearby venues....Plenty of cakes and snacks available but if you want real food or are on a tight budget you might struggle. I think the table spacing and atmosphere is good, and it's a good place to hang out with friends and chat, and not feel rushed or too crowded. Overall, it's a very good (but not quite 'excellent') café that often meets my needs and I'll likely be back many times more.More

Having eaten in a city centre restaurant we decided to go to Mariano for coffee at 7.30pm (closes at 8pm). They were obviously clearing up at the end of the day but, all we wanted were “takeaway drinks” (coffee and hot chocolate). We were told...they could not make these but could do alcohol (none of the group drinks alcohol). The Cafe / Bar I would have thought should still be serving drinks as there were still 30 minutes to go. Sorry but I felt this was poor customer service.More

I found the staff rude so I walked out and left. Only nice to regulars who hog seats far too long. Tables sometimes have cups left outside. Do not recommend at all will never return.

I popped into this cafe for a quick bite to eat with my elderly parents and my young daughter. Firstly, we were in the queue when one of their staff accused us of not socially distancing, calling us out in front of the whole queue....We informed her that we were in fact a family who live together which was clearly obvious by looking at us. Then, when they were preparing the coffee and food, they yelled at someone and their children for being inside their little tape square they had marked on the floor. The whole tape box is a bit stupid as you have to go up to the counter (within 2 feet of the barista) to collect your order anyway. Then, as I was sat down eating I saw the same barista who had yelled at the woman and the kids having a conversation with a friend who was leaning on the counter only a foot away from the barista. Clearly the staff here pick and choose who gets to follow the Covid rules and they’ve also taken it upon themselves to yell at people they think aren’t following the rules instead of kindly asking people.More

Great coffee, great baristas, but the bacon roll needs work - too dry! The driest pieces of bacon served in the driest of toasted rolls - thank goodness for ketchup! Please take pride in the serving one of the most basic of breakfasts Cafe Marzano,...from the most limited of breakfast menus I may add - and re-instore my faith in the good old British bacon roll - it's one of the few things preventing me from going veggie!More

I run a social site Norwich Social Adventure and use Marzano a lot to meet friends and members. Coffee is really nice, plenty of seating and tables, very good service, prices average for a nice coffee café. As it’s in the library building there is...free WiFi and toilets onsite. Very nice place to chill over a hot drink, can be a bit noisy at times, during the nicer weather has a large outside seating area.More

Still feel really shocked by the way a staff member spoke to me here a few days ago. The manager apologised and refunded my drink but the waiter just carried on with his tasks and completely ignored me even though I was clearly upset. No...apology from him.More

Our group enjoyed the coffee and the hot chocolate. The staff were efficient but I am not keen on having to hang about at the end of the counter to wait for your drinks. Plenty of seats and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The toilets badly...need a deep clean. It looks like someone gives a quick flick over but around the taps, on the tiles, around the sinks and the floors are all very grubby and stained. this is very offputting and needs sorting out. It is not customers misuse that’s the problem but very poor cleaning. How can a pleasant cafe in lovely surroundings think that this is acceptable?More
