Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Amazing food and great wine menu right up until the pre dessert and dessert. Let‘s be honest – it‘s not cheap, but as long as the food and wine is amazing then you‘ll pay. Unfortunately the last two courses of our menu were sub standard....The first five or so were so tasty I wouldn’t dream of saying anything negative. Really, really great. But the last two… at that price it shouldn‘t ever let up.More

A great tasting menu on a quiet Tuesday night in May. The staff were all charming, the service excellent and the food wonderful. Highlights for me included a broad bean amuse bouche and a rhubarb and custard dessert.

Everything about the meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary was superb. We had Menu 1 with 5 courses and the fine wine flight. Every course was memorable but the highlight was the lamb. We also discovered some yummy new wines. But of the greatest note...was the service - truly outstanding. Thank you to Team Benedicts.More

We were gifted a voucher for a meal at Benedict’s for our wedding last year, and finally got round to using it this weekend. We had to book a few weeks in advance as Benedict’s is so popular, which is always a good sign! I...am pregnant and coeliac which makes feeding me a little more challenging than most, but Benedict’s made it look easy. I had all of the same dishes as everyone else, just with small adaptations. I even had gluten free bread for the bread course! My favourite dishes were the duck (which they cooked through for me, rather than serving it pink), the asparagus with Cromer crab, and the mille-feuille. My husbands favourite was the lamb. I had delicious mocktails with my meal, and my husband enjoyed the local lager. The service was exceptional, and the whole restaurant was spotlessly clean. We cannot fault our experience here and will be back!More

Excellent all round. The tasting menu was superb - every course was a winner and the duck tart in particular was exceptional. Service was also very good indeed.

Some very nice elements to the set menu. As individual dishes they were lovely. But I didn’t really feel any flow or natural progression. Food was cooked well and tasty. There were no stand out dishes unfortunately. It was a special occasion so we opted...for the fine wine pairing ….that got a bit muddled up and I’m not really sure if what we were drinking was meant to go with the dishes. They were very apologetic and put this right by the main course but for £51 each …. I don’t think we would do that again just in case. What we did drink was lovely and we tried wines we have never tried before. Service was ok , everyone was pleasant…but we were left for a while waiting to catch someone’s eye to ask for some cutlery and had to ask for drinks and coffees. Nice touch that they wiped the crumbs between courses. We aren’t local but would look for somewhere else next time we are in town. We did really enjoy ourselves though and enjoyed everything we ate!More

Overall we were not impressed with our meal. A mixed bag with the courses enjoyable although main and pudding were really not very nice and were expecting better. Staff were friendly, although when enquiring about the main ingredient of one the dishes the waitress said...they didn't know. We wouldn't go back again. We had several of the cook at home meals during lock down and these were nicer.More

We had a stellar meal, with first class service, and absolutely wonderful and delicious food. Benedicts compares well to 2* and 3* Michelin restaurants. My wife and I have been to enough to compare, and Benedicts gives them a run for the money. The flavors,...the techniques, and the ingredients, combined with the genuine hospitality, are second to none. Our meal was truly superb, and this a diamond restaurant for Norwich. From a price point perspective, Benedicts is worth the price when compared to Michelin starred restaurants which can be irrationally expensive. We had a great experience, and the staff helped take it over the top. Cheers!More

Noise noise noise!!!!! No carpet and not even a tablecloth in sight to drown out the noise. Food good but why are modern restauranteurs too mean to put a carpet down or at least a table cloths??? The dining area is the final showcase and...it is ruined by noiseMore

Fantastic food and service, we absolutely loved it. We decided to go for it and had the tasting menu. I even enjoyed food such as mackerel which i would never have by choice. The service was clever very informative and attentive but not intrusive, so...a sign the staff are very well trained and all really seemed to enjoy their jobsMore
