Seems a strange title - but it's true. The lightest, easiest to eat batter we've ever had on fish and chips. After a very long trek in the Dales, we couldn't have found a better chippy.

We had take away from these guys twice - they were really good! Hot, tasty and fresh. The chaps behind the fryers were nearly as good value as their food!

On a cold, wet, rainy night following a disappointing football match, it was a real joy to discover The Fisherman for a much needed fish and chip supper on our long journey home. The fish and chips were some of the best ever tasted, all freshly cooked and served with a lovely smile from our very friendly and welcoming waitress.... More

On the last day of our recent short trip to Yorkshire we called in to The Fisherman for a tray of chips to go home with. The staff were very friendly, and the chips were great. Very hot and crispy, just how we like them. Would definitely call in again next time for a full-sized fish and chips !

Not good. The fish was mainly grey and black and had tough stringy bits along sides. Batter not great either, patches of thick, uncooked raw flour. The chips tasted like they had been warmed up. Won't be bothering again.

Stopped here for large cod and chips whilst passing through Settle. Portion size was generous and the fish and chips tasted fantastic. Was much needed after completing the 3 Peaks Cyclocross! Friendly service. Would definitely visit again.

We were hungry, we stopped in Settle and bought Fish and Chips from here to take out. They were the best fish and chips we had ever eaten. We have returned since because we know they are the best.

When walking past this little fish and chip take away and restaurant, my husband decided he couldn't resist the smell and I am so glad he did! Yummy food kids loved it and the staff were lovely and friendly. My only suggestion is that the restaurant could do with a little back ground music to make it a bit more... More

Stopped off for tea and sat in. We like food from here but usually get takeaway. If anything it's nicer on a plate! Friendly and cheerful service. Good grub, nice clean restaurant, toilets clean.
