Booked weeks in advance for evening meal here on a Thursday night. They only do one cover per table and I counted 6/7 tables so book ahead to avoid disappointment. Place was busy but not loud when we arrived and the charming waiting staff were friendly and had a joke with us. Thorough wine list so we opted for the Marlborough at around £25 and it was delicious. You can have either the 2 course (£25) or 3 course (£30) menu. I opted for venison carpaccio which came served with croutons, deliciously creamy goats cheese, croutons and a radish and spinach salad which was fresh and delicious. A palate cleansing granita followed and then the mains; beef pie with amazing mash, veg and the best gravy you’ve ever tasted. I had bream with a herb crust, served on a vegetable chowder and smoked salmon ravioli. It was a perfect dish for me (the pasta was a bit thicker but I like this). We had one pudding between two, a sticky toffee with creme freche ice cream and mixed berries which was a lovely contrast of tart, sweet and creamy. A glass of Armagnac to finish. My only gripe was no tip facility on the card payment so please bear this in mind. This place is a real joy and I’m still smiling about eating here. Thank you so much. We will be back!

Tiny restaurant that punches well above its weight for food win and service. Do not miss this place. Booking is essential. A small menu but it is clear that any choice will be a delight. Nice touches with amuse bouche in house sour dough rolls and palate cleansers add to the experience. Do not miss the deserts We had Aperitives, 3 courses, and wine and the bill for 2 of us was £98.

We ate here to celebrate the end of our coast to coast walk. Pauline and Rio were our waiters, from the moment we walked on to the momemt we left it was simply stunning, stunning food throughout including complimentary breads and dips, there were too many highs to recall however as all we could say is everything tasted wonderful, fresh, tasty and immaculately presented. This was our 2nd visit the previous being a few years earlier. We were stunned on our 1st visit and our recent visit was simply the same, faultless and to cap it all served at a reasonable price. Pauline tended to us in the main and maintained a relaxed yet efficient service at a pace that suited us, wished we lived closer to visit more often. Whatever you are doing please continue in the knowledge that you must surpass the expectations of most who eat at Ditto, simply brilliant thankyou. The desert I had was a lemon fool type dish which was wonderful my favourite ever desert, wish I had the recipe.

We were thrilled to manage to get a table in this intimate restaurant. Immaculate service, very friendly and cosy atmosphere with a great choice of music. Food was presented to a very high standard and tasted delicious with an immense variety of complimentary flavours and textures. We loved the sour bread rolls and the complimentary sorbet such a lovely touch. We both had 3 courses and the portion sizes were just perfect. There was a great variety of wines to choose from at a great range of prices. A perfect evening.

We visited on Friday 4th September, I believe this was only the 3rd night after re-opening. There were only 5 tables of 2 people in all night. Service was very good, food was excellent. We had 1 heritage tomato salad and 1 chicken & chorizo terrine starter and main courses of belly pork and steamed haddock fillet. Both accompanied by a bowl of vegetables. Also an excellent Sicilian red wine. Unfortunately no desserts (which looked very good) as we were full. Tables were well spaced and the staff wore visors, it felt very safe. This restaurant deserves its 5 star rating and we would definitely return.

Fabulous my 5 th visit to this fabulous restaurant it’s just getting a table .I put myself on the cancellation list and was lucky enough to get in , I noticed the chef was so helpful with people with allergies to nuts & dairy allergies they was fed must of rung and informed the chef before hand . When entering you have complementary homemade bread & dips and also a complementary passion fruit sorbet we had 3 courses each a 2x bottle wine £114 . Now to the service they couldn’t do enough fabulous the two ladies on the night , what I would say is take money for a tip ( you will want to leave one ) they only do cash we only had card but we did walk into town to the bank then walked back , really fabulous night booked again end of the month

Wow absolutely wonderful food from starter to dessert, complimentary bread and dips as you are seated while you look at the menu, lovely palate cleansing sorbet between starter and main. The staff are very attentive and pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. I would book early as it's only open Wednesday to Saturday and only seats about 16-20 people, very cosy , I booked our table over three months ago. They do take card but if you want to leave a tip(and you probably will) take cash for that. For the quality of the food available I found it very reasonably priced.

Just had a meal in Ditto, number one restaurant in Whitby, £25 for two course £32 for three, a choice of 3 started 3 mains and 3 Desserts all I can say is how they do it for that money I don’t know. I was too busy eating to take photos apart from the mains, pork belly that melted in the mouth. And drink not a rip of a bottle of Malbec £19.50. I would recommend any one coming to Whitby to book in advance as only 5 tables.

We had been wanting to eat at Ditto’s for ages as regular visitors to Whitby and it definitely lived up to our expectations. The food was delicious, the atmosphere and service fantastic and it is in a different league to anywhere else. The price was so reasonable too. We will be back!

This was just great! Ditto is usually fully booked, so we reserved a table more than a month in advance. We then found that my wife's sister and mother would be joining us. There was no space for them, but Ditto got back to me when they had a cancellation. That was very impressive. The excellent service continued when we actually went there and the food was not only delicious, but they didn't skimp 0n portion size, as so many places lie this do. We're back in September. I hope the an fit us in!

...apart from the bread and dips which were great. The main courses were not exciting, the mackerel starter didn't look to be fresh fish, it was just like standard Tesco shrink packaged stuff - I had pork on a bed of sweet potato mash and it was really just a smear of mash, there was ravioli on top and some nuts, the pork was OK, not particularly sweet or tender. My partner had sweet potato dumplings and she commented that they my be bought in, not freshly made and not great. To drink we had two different gins, none of the usual quality brands were available and I think this is a mistake, my pink gin was bitter and had an after taste, probably of sweetener. The staff were nice, well organised, we didn't have to wait for service or food to be served, but we hoped for a lot more, the price was almost 70 pounds with two drinks and no dessert, it should have been a lot better.

Booked Ditto's for my fiancee's birthday after reading all the positive reviews. My initial concerns over the rather limited menu choice proved to be completely unfounded. Food quality, service, ambience, everything about this dining experience was faultless. Can't recommended too highly. Just make sure you book at least 2 months in advance, they are constantly full (with good reason) and while we were there had at least a dozen enquiries.

Absolutely beautiful food, one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The service was very attentive, really welcoming and we were not left waiting for drinks and to give our order. Very friendly waiter and waitress. The food itself - I had the black pudding starter which was incredible, followed by a complimentary sorbet. For the main I had the belly pork which was absolutely gorgeous and the portion size was very generous. Its rare for me not to go for three courses but we were so full we had to pass on dessert which I'm sure would have been amazing. Worth booking well in advance as these guys are often fully booked which is understandable. Would come back here in a heartbeat.

Fancied 'posh nosh' for my birthday dinner and Ditto didn't disappoint! To kick off we were presented with homemade sourdough rolls and dips followed by delicious starters of haddock and cheese croquettes followed by a complimentary palette cleanser of passion fruit sorbet. For mains we chose the lamb and duck, both of which were fantastic and beautifully presented. Whiskey and white chocolate bread and butter pudding finished our meal of perfectly. The restaurant itself is quite small but very quaint. The staff are great, very attentive without being overly so.. we had a fantastic time. I would thoroughly recommend Ditto.

We visited Ditto last night as a group of four and it’s by far the best place we’ve visited anywhere around the east coast. It’s an intimate place and very friendly. Your tables booked for the evening so there is no rush, and the small menu was very thoughtfully planned. I prefer a smaller menu, it shows the chef is confident in the few course put together. We will be returning, I only wish I lived nearer to go more often and not just on holiday.
