The unassuming exterior of this restaurant across the road from the train station belies what lies within. We had a superb meal, I cannot fault it in any way. I’m fortunate to have eaten in a few great restaurants and this is up there with...them. Each course was a well considered explosion of flavours and the Surf and Snout signature main was exceptional. It also has a good and reasonably priced wine list and friendly and attentive service - as a said, nothing to fault. If I’m ever back in Whitby I shall come again.More
Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for our 2 year old. The food was delicious, if not a little bit pricy for what it is. There is also a 10% discretionary tip added to the bill, so watch...out if you don't want that to be added. The fish was lovely and fresh and chips were so tasty too, the kids portion was a really good size as well. The decor details are lovely and unusual too.More
Totally disappointed. Wants to be fine dinning but it isn't. Staff good but! Had sea trout starer and it was tastes. Haddock and chips no better. Had better walking on the sea front at Cleethorpes. Pretentious. Totally forgettable. Don't bother.
We had an amazing experience from start to finish. We were very lucky to have a window table overlooking the harbour. Our food was delicious and the service was spot on. We will definitely be back again!
A fantastic evening at this restaurant. Booking is required though as it was very busy. Really excellent service. Very attentive on pouring the champagne and nice timing of the courses.
The vegetarian food was delicious, I had tempura broccoli followed by the burger 🍔. Absolutely...sensational.
My wife had the fish and chips which were excellent.
The place has a lovely ambiance and we will be coming back to Whitby just for this restaurant alone.
Great work guys 👍More
The menu here was so appealing we were struggling to choose what to eat - so we booked to come again in 2 days time - and that was before we’d eaten!
The service was excellent - from the moment we arrived until we left,...nothing was too much trouble and all the staff we dealt with were very professional, warm and helpful. I ordered an extra glass of wine to go with my next course, just minutes before the food arrived and it was there in moments
The key, of course, was the food - we had the Bar Bait (similar to tapas), then a starter and main - we avoided sides with the main as there were so many good dishes to choose we wanted to try as many as possible.
Every dish was a delight
I would recommend 100% and we are looking forward to visiting again in 2 days timeMore
