From the minute we walked in to the moment we left, we loved this place. It was comfortably warm on a very cold night. It is spacious, decor lovely and feels quite opulent. The staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful. Now, you come to...a restaurant to eat.......so, amazingly, 3 of the party had same starter and main! Garlic prawns to start then penne pollo gorganzola (one said it was the best pasta meal he'd ever eaten, all loved the full on flavour. I had figs and goats cheese to start, always a favourite of mine and this was really good, then I had a really tasty butternut squash risotto, too much so they did me a doggy bag for following day lunch! We will definitely be back!More

Great pear pizza!!! Fried squid were a smash Ste over cooked, shrimp were awesome. Could eat the pizza daily! If I live there I’d eat there all the time. Great staff.

Our family, five adults and two children have eaten here before and have to say that it is firmly on our list. It's a really nice atmosphere and the staff are wonderful. Although we were spoiled for choice I hit lucky with the gorgonzola penne...chicken topped with walnuts and everyone enjoyed their meals. Just had to mention one really nice touch. The the kids 5 and 2 shared a pizza because they like the starters and munching from our plates. When we had finished each kids meal comes with a scoop of ice cream. As they had shared meal they were entitled to just one but they brought two. A small gesture and probably cost around 20p but these are the things that make you want to one again. See you next year, all being wellMore

Lovely restaurant serving fabulous food. We enjoyed two evening meals here on our recent trip to Whitby. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was so friendly and professional. The decor and ambience of the restaurant make for a very pleasurable evening out.

Travelled from the South for a weekend in Whitby. We booked Cosa Nostra for our first evening meal - we saw they had excellent reviews and also saw that they catered well for gluten free. I have Coeliac Disease and require a strict gluten free...diet, so I made sure to email the restaurant beforehand to make sure that this was okay and they could cater for me. They replied very promptly and confirmed that a majority of their menu could be adapted to gluten free and they could provide gluten free pasta and pizzas. On arrival, they had noted down my dietary requirements. I overhead one waitress say to another that they needed to make sure the kitchen and the staff upstairs were aware of my requirements as “they didn’t want another mistake like last time”, which did immediately put me on alert. For starters I had the goats cheese and figs which was absolutely delicious, I could have happily eaten it over and over again. My non-gf partner had the truffle and Parmesan mushrooms which he said was also delicious. For mains, I had ordered a carbonara but when it came out, it was spaghetti (usually gluten free pasta in restaurants is penne) so I thought i would question it. The waiter questioned it with a manager who confirmed immediately that it was not gluten free and was very apologetic and explained that she was very upset by this as the kitchen and waiting staff were made aware. She reassured me that my starter was gluten free and the chips we ordered on the side were fine also. She also offered to take my main meal off the bill which was a very kind gesture. She arranged for another carbonara to be made for me and it came out in about 15 minutes. When it arrived, it was hot, beautifully presented and had a lovely flavour. My partner ordered the calzone and said it was very good. Overall, the food was very good quality. The staff were very friendly. It is very clear that they can cater well for gluten free but my only negative would be that they need to be extra careful when dealing with allergies and dietary requirements. If I hadn’t have questioned my meal when it was first put in front of me, I could have spent the rest of our trip away in hospital!More

Visit this restaurant every time we are in Whitby. Have always enjoyed the food and had good service. Not sure if they have a new chef but our meal on this occasion was very average. The pasta ragu consisted of pasta and dry mince with...hardly any sauce and lacked any seasoning. My partner had the Arabiatta which was the same lots of pasta but little sauce and very bland. The garlic bread described as thin and crispy came out as thick and doughy with little taste of garlic and smothered in pesto. I queried this with the waiter who explained that the chef was in the process of changing the menu…!!! That’s fine but don’t change the food until you change the menu as I wouldn’t have ordered the garlic bread if it had been described as thick pizza base. Both meal’s very average, won’t be returning.More

I'm really sorry to say that this is one of the worst meals I've ever had in Whitby. We have eaten at this place many many times over the years, but this particular meal was absolutely dreadful. There were 4 of us and we ALL...left our food. On a positive note, the staff were lovely.More

The restaurant was very busy on a Monday evening which is a very good sign. We were seated on the upstairs balcony which gave us a panoramic view. I had mussels to start which were plump and tasty and cooked in a rich puttanesca sauce....For the main course my partner had the sea bass fillet with mussels in a white wine sauce on a bed of potatoes, which she said was fabulous, with the sea bass cooked perfectly. I had the Linguine Frutti di Mare. A very generous serving of king prawns, mussels, cod and smoked haddock with linguine in a savoury tomato broth. It was served with ciabatta to mop up the delicious sauce. We also had a bottle of fruity Chardonnay which went down very well. Service was efficient and friendly. A great Italian meal in a lovely setting.More

Came across this Italian, whilst having a wonder around Whitby. The place and menu looked nice, so we decided to go later that evening, we were not disappointed. The greeting on arrival was warm and friendly. The service from start to finish was great, friendly...and helpful. Starters we ordered Bruschetta Pomodora and Garlic prawns, these were both delicious. Mains we ordered a Linguine Gamberoni and a Proscuitto e Rucola pizza. The pizza dough was light, a little crispy and fresh -perfect, the toppings were very tasty too, the balsamic glaze was one of the nicest I’ve had. The linguine, plenty of large prawns, seasoned perfectly. Will definitely visit here again and highly recommend.More

Lovely interior and atmosphere within. Staff attentive and waitress particularly friendly and cheerful which was great. Food was disappointing and was ok but not great . Food presentation was good but the Tomato garlic bread was very doughy, bland tomato base with no discernible taste...of garlic and although I love pesto overdone with it. Pepperoni pizza although described as thin base had the same doughy base , bland tomato sauce and hunt the pepperoni . A real shame after reading other reviews because although decent , not greatMore
