Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely friendly owner. Served our dog with a tiny teacup of treats while we decided what to eat. We had a full breakfast which was large hot and tasty. We usually go to the Singing Kettle but now we have discovered Lush there’s no going...back. We will be back and thank you.More

We have just spent a month in Whitby, and I was in here every morning for my coffee, and had a fair few brekkies too. What a fantastic place, great food, atmosphere, and wonderful friendly owner. Our dog loved it too, and the treats she...got every time we went in. Can't recommend Lush highly enough, if you're in whitby it's an absolute must. Thanks for feeding and caffenating us for the last few weeks!!More

Excellent food - but even better service. Guy running the place was fantastic - just a pleasure to be around. Made it an experience rather than just a food stop. Coffee and milkshakes were wonderful and the full English breakfast was huge and really good...value. Highly recommend and would go back tomorrow!More

Friendliest establishment I’ve ever been in! Lovely warm welcome from the staff. It felt like a local place I’d been to so often I was a welcome regular. Absolutely fantastic hot chocolate for my 8 year old…SO many marshmallows, amazing tea pot for my husband,...gorgeous coffee for me and dog treat and water for our lab. Customer service at its best!More

Came here due to friends recommendation, lovely warm welcome and amazing service with friendly greeting and chat. Coffee was amazing, tea served in a big pot with Yorkshire tea, espresso was top tier. Breakfast was quality and well priced as it included a hot drink....Definately will return on our travels in the van! Thank you! ☺More

After reading the good reviews we called in for breakfast. It was cooked to order and there was plenty of it. We visited with our border terrier and he was given some doggy biscuits and some crispy bacon. The coffee was delicious too. We will...definitely be back in a few months.More

Fantastic breakfast, great service. Bit out of the way but not hard to find. Definitely worth visiting from a Whitby lass now living in Sweden.

Well worth straying slightly off the main road to this lovely spot. A warm welcome from the owner on a cold day for all 3 of us. The food was good standard and plentiful. Value for money was spot on. It may be a smaller...place but the outside seating will double the capacity for warmer days. The small touches really make this place stand out. We were honoured to use the favourite teapot. The dog treats were given before we’d sat down. We’ll be back.More

This is a hidden gem of a cafe. Super friendly owner and locals, we were made to feel very welcome. We had a full English breakfast, it is huge and very good quality, super tasty, served with tea or coffee and toast. It’s the best...value we’ve had all week. When we are back next year we intend to make it our regular coffee and breakfast stop, can’t wait….More

Silver Street is a little bit away from Whitbys main shopping streets so you will probably only stumble across Lush by chance or go there based on reviews. We were in the later camp but we're so glad we did. My wife and I had...the full English which was outstanding both in quality and value for money. It's a real plateful and was cooked to perfection. My daughter had a bit chocolate topped with so much cream and marshmallows it looked like a desert and a little girl sat at a table next to us took one look and wanted one. The 2 girls serving and owner Ross were really friendly and he took time out to chat. They were closing the following day to repaint so I'm really glad we didn't miss out on what must be the best breakfast in town! Give it a go, it's great!More
