We popped in for lunch whilst on a day out in Whitby. Nice pub food, was fresh tasted home made and decent portion (we had gammon & chilli) Took a little while to come but we weren’t in a rush, was worth the wait.

Charming Little Pub near 199 steps. Only had a Drink , but the food going past our table looked and smelled lovely , and the portions were huge , hence nearly every plate going back had food left...which personally I do not like..to much waste....More

As usual great food at the Duke of York, don’t think we’ve ever had a bad meal here. Chose our usual favourites Gammon egg and pineapple and Whitby Scampi. Good place to eat and fabulous view through the window watching the fishing boats coming home

Lovely little pub, lots of character, nice menu, standard pub grub stuff and at a reasonable price. If you get a window seat you also get lots of lovely views across the river!

There was one there in the dining area but it wasn't in use as when I was there as it was summertime.
