Heard it changed hands so thought we would give it a try again.... So much better. New landlord is friendly and the food is lovely and home cooked.

My friend and I both had fish, chips, mushy peas and bread and butter to eat. The food was excellent - the portion size of the fish can be best be described as very large. We will certainly be returning in the future because the...More

As a couple of reviews have already stated the board inn is a nice pub, with good beer and friendly locals. The reviews also mention the 20ish blonde haired lad that works behind the bar. What an ignorant, sulking, couldn't care less approach he has...More

Not a bad pub and another that occupies a nice location overlooking the estuary at Whitby. I enjoyed a nice pint of Theakstons XB beer and my girlfriend was encouraged to try the house gin, which she reluctantly did being something of a premium gin...More

Good sized portions of good food can be washed down with some quality real ale. There is a downstairs dining room that also offers a reasonable view over the River Esk.

Personally I would not go there. The food is not very good. Plenty of better places to eat.

Most of the pubs in Whitby seem dog friendly. In the Board the dining area is downstairs away from the main bar so shouldn't be an issue with dogs.

it does overlook the harbour to the other side but it's a very limited view ...as such, it's not an interesting view though at night when the other side is lit up, it is much nicer.
