Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful area which we visited purely by chance. Lovely surroundings and a wooden building serving cakes, snack meals and drinks. The staff were very efficient and friendly, and the scones, jam and cream were the best I’ve tasted in years. Would def recommend this...lovely little placeMore

Just blissful and beautiful. Food freshly prepared and delicious. An absolute gem of a find. Bit steep walking down but really worth it. Very close to Whitby so a nice jaunt for a day trip

This charming little cafe/tea room exceeded expectations with their delicious sandwiches made from the freshest bread, but also with a good selection of salads and other healthy options. Set at the head of the pretty Falling Foss waterfall in a beuatiful wood, it is a...delightful place to visit.More

It’s nearly a 5 because this place is stunningly beautiful. In a beautiful wooded area near a river and very close to the lovely magical waterfall. Even the toilets were amazing. The coffee is excellent, real coffee, fantastic coffee machine. Why it’s not an excellent...review - We ordered 2 tuna mayo sandwiches which were large and the bread was fresh. There was too much mayo for my personal taste however and one of the Tripadvisor photo’s show crisps coleslaw and salad which we weren’t given. The cakes looked delicious. Loved the staff especially the person that made our sandwich. There was an adults birthday party nearby, what a great idea. I was looking for the fairies 🧚‍♀️ it really was so magical. Thank you. I so wish we lived closer.More

Just what we wanted at the end of our circular walk a decent cup of coffee and a decent cup of tea served by polite efficient staff. We sat outside in the spacious garden at a nicely spaced table. Prices reasonable

Great sit for a coffee and cake, sandwich good. Nice walk through the woods with dogs. Toilets basic but clean. Bit of a steep walk down - not a problem for me but older people might struggle.

Fabulous place! The setting is absolutely spectacular, lots of woodland to explore, real Famous Five stuff! Recommend the walk from Littlebeck. We visited lunchtime on Easter Saturday. There was a Q as you’d expect but got served really quickly. - staff friendly & efficient -...coffee great - food good - toilets clean (might be better to make them unisex as there’s only 2) - fantastic recycling - brilliant tree swing Staff even emptied the bathroom bin before it overflowed! (Why do so few places in England manage to do this??) Our daughter loved the bunny trail. (The walk back to the car park is steep but short. Anyone reasonably fit person should have no trouble.)More

Very beautiful and picturesque location. The walk from the car park to the tea rooms is an extremely hilly trek which people with limited mobility will really struggle with. The queue for the tea rooms was beyond ridiculous to be told they didn’t have any...scones or cakes left. The toilet situation is revolting. Only 1 toilet ‘working’ which did not flush which is not idea on a mega hot day.More

Lovely spot, water cascading over nearby rocks, the coffee was excellent, small snacks great, service from the hut excellent. Its only a small set up but the toilet situation is limited, seemed only one in a separate outbuilding and a queue to use it, otherwise...it would have been 5*. If you are looking to access Waterfall be mindful of warnings, it's steep and not a recommended path, Malyan spout is an easier option.More
