Ate here tonight for dinner, lovely, food good, service amazing, being a family of 6 on a busy half term not a lot of places could fit us in, but glad we found here, fish pie was delicious and I usually hate fish pie, in...a time when a lot of places are struggling staff wise and using this to reduce hours/menu etc couldn’t have asked for anywhere more perfectMore

The food here is amazing, it is all freshly cooked and brought out to you quickly. The staff are also really friendly. The price for the quality of food is decent as well.

We had two recommendations to eat here both based in York. I was not aware of previous criticism until after i had visited the restaurant and eaten. My meal was a straightforward cod and chips, to a northerner living south this was manna from heaven....My wife a south coast girl had a seafood salad, with no complaints , just praise, The staff were very friendly and attentive fully masked and cleaner ready. So no complaints from us! With regard the cost , it seemed correct for a good meal served in a nice situation, off the main thoughfare and looking out to sea.More

Not only were we impressed with the food which arrived speedily and was unforgettably delicious but couldn't help notice how much attention the staff gave to sanitising tables and condiments. Highly recommended

Expensive for fish and chips. Rain shelter leaked. Dreadful Cannes music when we just wanted to eat fish and chips and enjoy the ( limited) view

Great position looking out over the sea/bay, waited for a window seat. Great quality of fish, decent portions, pleasant and prompt service, not cheap, don't have a starter unless famished! Seating is a bit benchy.

First time visitors to fisherman’s Wife and will be our last. On entrance staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming. We decided to move to a window table that become vacant only to be told off that we couldn’t move seats. Staff spoke to us like we...were children. We decided not to eat in there and ate in the Magpie Cafe which I would definitely recommend, fish and chips gorgeous and staff lovely and friendly. In hindsight the staff at Fisherman’s Wife done us a favour and by previous reviews the food was much cheaper.More

Following the good reviews we decided to try this restaurant... big mistake. We took the mussels and the crab and prawns cocktail as starters and half lobster and the grilled salmon as main. The mussels were cooked in a horrifying unseasoned cream sauce and it...was simply inedible, disgusting. The crab and prawns cocktail was mainly marie-rose with questionable undefined fish. The lobster was non descript and served in a sort of industrial and evidently overused shell. But the worst thing was the salmon!!! The dish was composed by 3 strips of the worst salmon I ever tasted served with uncooked potatoes and a unidentifiable vegetable as side. To avoid absolutely. We paid 73£ to do not have any dinner at all. Furthermore, the staff is rude and precocious because rather than apologies for the horrible experience they had the gall to say to me that is a question of tastes and not that their food was good only for the beasts.More
