Disappointed to be honest , didn’t know which fish shop to visit while in Whitby but we went here … the young lady serving was dressed in normal clothes complete with make up and nails ! The food was ok but smoothered in batter bits..., we had haddock which was good the chips were average…. I’ll try another chip shop next time ….More

Fabulous upmarket fish and chips restaurant. Lots of food options, quick service but not rushed. Dogs allowed. Really enjoyed our delicious meal and will def come again on our next trip to Whitby.

Well what can I say about the fish .I asked for cod .and I think they sold me plaice .there was no fish in the batter .it was horrid

This is amazing! such a gem. There have a lovely, modern, clean restaurant which is really welcoming. The staff are so lovely and the food was amazing! good value for money as well!

Fish and chips from.battery parade yesterday worst I've ever had in my life. Inedible, concrete chips and batter with grey fish. Went in the bin. I had my own fish and chip business, live locally, eat fish n chips weekly. Truly truly dreadful.. never again,...no queue yet a long wait too.More

Amazing fish and oysters also had beautiful scallops in a samphire and bacon sauce, had haddock and chips which were excellent, would have given 5 stars but service from the younger waitresses was a little sloppy at times, kids !!

Heard some great reviews of this place, so ended up heading for Sunday dinner. Clean and nice place, good selection of food and drinks. The food, what can I say. Very, very good fish and chips, some of the best in Whitby I’ve had. Other...people had the mussels, crab, scallops, all extremely well presented and very fresh and tasty. You may ask, why I’ve given it 3 stars, the service was very, very poor. 4 young waiters, zero personalities which you don’t mind, but please clear away our table and ask if we would like another drink, instead of being huddled around watching Tik Tok videos. Very, very disappointing service, but what do you expect with Gen Z staff, who can’t put their phones down for 1 hour at work. I’d happily come back to the take away service, but not sit down for a meal.More

We wanted our first 'fish and chip' lunch at Whitby to be a good one - and it was. 4 adults plus two dogs where welcomed warmly and the food was top drawer. We're here for a few days so we'll have something to compare...before we head home but Mr Chips has set the bar high and we'll likely be back!More

This restaurant provides fabulous food. We’v been visiting this place for about 7 years and every time we’ v received brilliant friendly service, dogs are welcome and there’s some thing for everyone on the menu. They have a daily specials board as well, can highly...recommend the mussels best we’v ever had anywhere! The crab starter is to die for.More

We were a group of 8 (plus 1 small dog) seated in 2 adjoining booths. Very tasty scallops to start followed by a lovely skate wing. Others in the group enjoyed the mussels and the trio of seafood (grilled cod, breaded king prawns and scallops)....They do non fish dishes too and members of the group liked the chicken strips with a soy marinade. The only disappointment were the chips themselves which were a little dry. Very good value drinks and helpful staff.More

Who ever gave Mr chips restaurant 5 stars must have landed from the moon .the staff were inexperienced the fish & chips were shocking as was the price we gave it a go but never again.
