Very disappointed. Been going here years, but called in for cake to takeaway today and the portions were tiny -£9 for two thin slices. Always used to get their scones too but they were so small they looked like biscuits so we didn’t bother. Had...the cake later at home and although it was very light it had no flavour. Mine was cherry and almond but tasted like a plain sponge. My husband couldn’t remember what his was and we couldn’t identify the taste! Sadly we won’t be returning 😢More

We have visited Gogi on every visit to York and it never disappoints. Interesting, nutritious and delicious Vegan food. The coffee is great too and the desserts very tempting. So very sad such establishments are not country-wide. It would be lovely to have a local...Gogi restaurant. Staff are always helpful and service is very good, considering its popularity. I cannot think of any negatives!More

A fantastic cafe for anyone but particularly if you are looking for delicious and fresh gluten free and vegan options. A real treat to be able to eat out without worrying about gluten contamination. Not just mains but several GF and vegan options available too....Reasonably priced and lovely staff.More

This place is going down hill. We waited for half an hour from ordering to receiving our food. Other people doing the same. Staff plentiful but didn’t seem to be doing anything. After asking , food arrived and was very very average at best. £13...for 3 tiny falafels tiny salad dishes and a filo parcel which was ok enough. Food here used to be much better than now. Lovely venue for a delicious, healthy lunch. Fresh salads, Great cake selection. Friendly & welcoming staff providing excellent table service. Very reasonably priced given the high quality of super fresh ingredients.

In the recent very hot weather, we were very pleased to grab one of the few tables in the little hidden courtyard out back. We had iced coffees and shared a Middle Eastern sharing platter. Everything on it was great - falafel, flatbread, beetroot hummus,...beetroot dip, tabbouleh (very light and fresh), and sweet potato borek with pomegranate glaze. We noticed on our way out they do basically the same platter but as a takeaway picnic box - would definitely recommend either way!More

Rare to find a veggie restaurant so was keen to try, saw what I wanted displayed as I walked in. Was slightly chaotic, one young server didn’t seem to know what she was doing and lacked a sense of urgency needed in a busy cafe....Finally got a table, a sticky one, sat outside with the nice aroma of drains and ordered, drinks came quickly, and one of the plates ordered, and then we waited, after 30 mins has to remind server we were still waiting for something that was already made up and just needed putting on a plate. The food was nice but too much choice, and the cafe felt cramped and a bit tired. Doubt I’d go back.More

Excellent vegetarian food but the place is tired and tables 'sticky' ? dirty. Cleanliness not up to standard but truly beautiful food comes out of the rather cramped and grubby kitchen If you are not too fussy about cleanliness this is a great place to...eat excellent vegetarian food.More

I came here for the first time and had the vegan afternoon tea which was nice. The savoury tart with it wasn't the best (and I almost said something but by then had eaten most of it!) but the rest was very nice. The scone...especially - while quite small - was really delicious and the vegan cream was great with it; I've had quite a few vegan cream teas and the cream can sometimes be very hit or miss, but this one was one of the nicest. However there was a limited amount of teas included compared to other places I've been and I would have liked to see a bigger selection included in the price. The person who was with me is omnivore and doesn't typically eat veggie or vegan food but said they ordered the vegan hot dog (+vegan cheese) and said it was delicious and they would happily order it again. I had a bite of it and agree it was very nice. I'd also be happy to visit again, perhaps trying a savoury lunch option then just a scone to finish. The upstairs seating area felt a little cramped, but the flowers on the table were lovely and it was nice to have the art on the walls. We had tried to book in advance as we were short on time, but they unfortunately don't do reservations. Luckily we got a seat after not too long a wait, service was quick, and I was able to take away the cake I couldn't finish in the time.More
