Amazing cup of coffee and an apple pie to doe for, served by a wonderful person. Thank you for your kindness 🌈
Great little store. The couple who run it are wonderfully friendly. After a disappointing visit to another coffee establishment the cheerful welcome from the young lady and the exceptional service and local knowledge from the gentleman turned our day around. Would highly recommend.
Unusual little cafe just under the city wall. Friendly owner. Good coffee and teas. Didn’t try the cakes etc but they looked good.
Friendly welcome, great coffee and cakes, and not too expensive, but not very clean and needs a refurbishment
First visit and it was the ideal place to grab a hot drink and a delicious sandwich. Service was prompt, friendly and accommodating. Great little cafe in a historic location.
A quirky little cafe literally in the walls of York . Lovely coffee and an excellent bacon butty ( in a ciabatta roll) , even if slightly burnt at the edges . Cosy too and particularly welcome on a wet winter afternoon . Cheerful service...too .More
This has been our "go to" restaurant for our breakfast in the past when we visit York. We arrived at the cafe for our breakfast on a Thursday about 9.30 and the cafe wasn't open, although the website advises an 8.30 opening time. We previously...loved the cafe so we walked about for a while & eventually got in just before 10. The food was good, the coffee only warm when it arrived and the owner polite & friendly. However, the floor hadn't been cleaned from the day before and the walls & doors looked like they could do with a wipe down. The interior had changed from the previous visit so maybe there is a makeover in progress? The door was still closed on Saturday when we passed about 9.10 (opening advertised as 9). Amend the website opening times if you can't make it for the specified times.More
Visited today and this cake wow wow wow. The owner was fabulous helpful and very welcoming so much so we won't back twice and bought some to take home! Highly recommend a visit. Very handy for York art gallery and hop onbus stop
I had purchased a scone elsewhere and dropped in to sit with a coffee, although the place looked a bit of a mess. The pastry case looked as if it had been picked over several days ago, and was all sweets. My coffee arrived quickly...and was good, so I began eating my scone. When the barista came out later to serve another table he told me that I wasn’t allowed to eat it - only food purchased on the premises. I certainly wasn’t keeping my table from other more lucrative business, as there were only 3 other customers. This was my only unpleasant and unwelcoming experience during my visit to York - everyone else has been delightful.More
3 adults and 3 kids refused service due to the member of staff not wanting a “large group” in the shop. From entering the shop we were not greeted or shown signs of being accommodated for. We offered to sit in pairs at separate tables,...but this was still not okay. Can not comment on the coffee or the food. As a regular visitor to the area I do not intend on returning to cafe!More
Super friendly staff and the best coffee in York! Also really good treats that are a must to try when visiting York!
Never tried this cafe before, we popped in for some breakfast and were the only ones in but struggled to find a table that didn’t have plates and mugs still on and that was wiped. Our sandwiches were also really burnt and we ended up...sitting on a sticky table with crumbs all around, which the staff member didn’t even offer to wipe.More
Good morning. Would you please be able to let me know which day you were In and what time. Then I can look into this matter.
Best bacon sarnie I have had in a long time. Very good quiche and salad as well. Very friendly service. Just opposite York Art Gallery and very handy for a light lunch.
Excellent coffee, really good sausage sandwich. Excellent Brie and bacon too. Friendly and casual service , quality ingredients, sensible pricing. My new regular lunch spot.
