Wow, what to say? After buying pizzas to take away during lockdown, I booked a table for 7 of us to celebrate my wife’s birthday. So welcoming. So friendly. Service was outstanding. After they brought us a spicy garlic bread as an appetiser, the pizzas themselves were amazing. The coup d’etat was the Maradona, a special with the best buffalo mozzarella! My son in law has a lot of allergies which they considered and catered for - he loves meat and they provided a meat feast. My daughter is vegan and equally there was something delicious for her too. Drinks were served cold and quickly! We had taken a wonderful cake, beautifully baked by my daughter, which they kept to bring out as a surprise. The atmosphere was buzzing all evening (this was a Sunday!). Everyone is so lovely. And the price at the end was excellent, and they don’t even do that annoying tip thing on the card machine (we did leave one of course!). Get along soon. You won’t regret it.

Dining at Cresci is a real Neapolitan experience. The pizzas are simply the dough and the ingredients you'd expect in Naples, with a great variety of toppings, reasonably priced and a day of the week when wholemeal dough is also available. Bernardo (try his starters and the amazing desserts), Elena and the pizzaiolo have created a simple but carefully planned formula that cannot go unnoticed if you're in York. The atmosphere is professional and friendly at the same time and while you're left salivating over your pizza or a simply luscious cannolo or rhum baba', you can't help but feeling how these guys work very hard to keep their well above average standards up. Well done the team.

Have had the enjoyment of Cresci Pizza as take out during the lockdown andnit was amazing then, so when family & friends came to visit we took the opportunity to go to the restaurant and.... WOWZERS !!! Neopolitain Pizza direct from their amazing oven, direct to your table is just sublime. The pizza base is super thin, crispy and delicious and their toppings are superb, capped off by amazing service - you could not ask for better. We also treated ourselves to the Rum Bhaba - what a treat. My friend Franco is also from the region and has a restaurant back home in Italy - he thought the pizza was amazing too. Congratulations Armando and Team for a superb eatery in York & the best pizza we have eaten in ages. We look forward to another visit soon.

Visited tonight with friends. Had a reservation for 7pm… arrived at 7pm asked to wait outside in the freezing cold…. 15 minutes past so went back in to be told we had another 30 minutes to wait to be seated despite couples walking in without a reservation and seated straight away. So asked for the manager who appeared 10 minutes later. Walked past 3 empty tables that could have accommodated our party. Apparently they were waiting to be cleared. Service was absolutely dreadful. Pizzas just ok. No apology offered for long wait. Whilst we were waiting a gentleman with a young child was waiting outside for the whole 30 minutes to collect his take away finally went inside as his child was frozen. Won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend a visit to this place unless packing a snow suit! To top it off following our meal I ordered a coffee that appeared to have been made with cold water! Had I been able to give this place 0 stars I would have!

Hello The waiting time it's our fault, sorry for that! the coldn water in the coffee is your invention. About the gentleman with baby you don't know what he ask and for what he waited, the rewiew should be about yourself not looking the gentleman how much he waited !!!

I lived in Naples for many years before moving to the UK and I can honestly say this is among the best pizzas I have ever eaten in both countries. Is an authentic Neapolitan pizza, the dough was well risen and rested giving a great texture, cooked to perfection in a wood fired oven and topped with fresh ingredients. We were impressed when they sliced parma ham right there and then (in the pic you can see the and the pizza Diavola with spicy salami). We also tried the frittatina starter and the sweet rhum babà, both delicious! Friendly staff, welcoming environment and amazing food, book a table right now!

I was there tonight with some friends and we couldn't be happier. We had frittatina and a cricchè as a starter, both delicious. Pizzas were to die for. Being vegetarian I had a good recommendation from the pizza chef (try provola or buffalo mozzarella instead of fior di latte, you will not regret it). My friends are from Naples and they told me that it is the same pizza that they have on their home town. Highly recommended! Grazie ragazz! Fantastici come sempre!

We had to wait 5 minutes for our table which is testament to the popularity of this bustling little restaurant. The centre piece of the restaurant is the mosaic tiled wood fired oven churning out the delicious pizzas. I had a tuna pizza and it was really tasty. I generally prefer thin crust pizza but I could not fault the more doughy crust on this one. I had a glass of red Primotivo which was very good and fruity. For dessert I adored the rum baba with amerena cherry. Our server Abi looked after us very well with friendly and efficient service. £105 for 4 is not the cheapest but you have to pay for good quality

Having tried several times at the last minute to get in, we finally got organised and booked in advance to secure a table and it was so worth it. Traditional and tasty with great staff, a fantastic atmosphere and a pizza oven that is worthy of its own page on trip advisor. The upstairs space is certainly a huge addition and gives more space as opposed to the smaller eating area downstairs - don’t just look through the window and think it’s full… there is plenty of room upstairs too! Even the local Italian we ate with couldn’t fault it. The food arrived very promptly, was very reasonably priced and was so tasty. So much flavour from the authentic ingredients. Sadly no pictures as it looked so good we dived straight in. We will be back. Thank you.

Rating purely based on customer experience as didn’t get to try the food. Booked 2 days in advance before arriving in York. Turned up in the restaurant on time, waited to be seated after giving out our booking name to the ‘maitre d’. She then went on to take food order from another table and after few minutes came back asking for booking name again, visibly flustered. We then were taken to an upstairs room by another member of staff and were shown to a high table of 4. We were 2 adults with 2 children and since the table was nearly up to the neck of our 5 year old we have politely asked if we can move to lower table of 4 (they had 1 free table downstairs and 1 upstairs at the time). They have said they will move us but their vocal member of staff said and I quote “we will have to serve you quickly pizza as you have to leave this table at 8”. Given it was 7pm booking and we were planning to have few drinks and pudding we were not pleased by the way we were treated from entering the place and just left. We have had a 3 course dinner and wine in a different location. Very rude staff and for that reason would not return and recommend, shame as we were looking forward to some authentic pizza. Most disappointing is the fact we booked in advance but obviously that didn’t make any difference.

Original Neopolitan pizza served in pleasantly casual surroundings by great staff. These guys produce some of the best pizzas I've ever tried both inside and outside of Italy. Pride in their work is evident on every plate. Trust me, as a local, you'll make a mistake if you choose anywhere else. Just don't ask for pineapple on your pizza and everything will be fine.

Absolutely fantastic pizza house! Really reasonably priced and just so delicious - we shared 2 different pizzas and I couldn’t choose a favourite, both cooked to perfection & so yummy! We were seated overlooking the kitchen and this added to the experience - Armondo, one of the owners, was so welcoming and we loved chatting to him & watching him handmake the pizzas, and thank you for the limoncello shots!!

I'd recommend booking particularly in holidays(over phone or online via their website), though there were tables available before six, for people just walking in. Our pizzas were simply superb; cooked in a traditional oven by an Itaian chef. The waiting staff were very friendly without over fussing and the service was very quick. A must try is the sponge soaked in rum for pudding; amazing!

We went here on a Sunday evening and it was busy. The staff are friendly and attentive, all seemed to be Italian. The head chef came over for a chat- what a nice guy. He watches each customer to see if they are enjoying his food, you know it’s very personal to him. If you’re a foodie you’ll love it here. The ingredients they use are all top quality imported from Italy. It shows, the food is amazing, perfect pizzas with powerful flavours. There is a real buzz going on, it’s not stuffy just a great atmosphere for relaxing and enjoying the amazing food. The wine was also very well chosen, Italian of course, perfect for your pizza night. We enjoyed this more than we should! All I can say is many thanks to the guys at Cresci, we had a wonderful evening.

Went here after looking up best pizza in York and this came up, did not disappoint, properly authentic pizza’s. Also had one of the starters which I had never tasted or heard of before but really enjoyed. Waitresses were working very hard and to top it all off very good value for money.
