Very busy but lucky to get a table lunch time on a Saturday. Food choices were great and food very tasty. Good atmosphere and modern bistro style layout. Friendly staff

The restaurant was very busy, but we were seated quickly and comfortably. The server was very polite and knowledgeable as to what food we might like. Excellent tapas. Lovely evening. Would highly recommend.

Arrived at Trio & both me & my partner were seated straight away so I thought that’s a good start. We both had a look at the menu & the food looked lovely. So I thought we were in for a treat. That’s where the...expectations ended. My partner ordered the sliced fillet steak & I ordered the Beef Koftas & we both had a beer each. Firstly my order was wrong & I called the waiter over to say that they’ve given me chicken & I ordered beef koftas, the waiter then said “so you don’t want this” I said “that’s not what I ordered” then he said “that’s not what I asked you” very very rude, the couple on the next table to us even commented on how rude this waiter was! When our food finally arrived I was shocked at how small the portions were & that neither meal was served with a side dish which we had ordered separately, (chips, in a tiny bowl not even enough for 1 let alone 2) the amount we got was only enough for a toddler served on a side plate. I used the ladies toilet before leaving this was upstairs, the floor was filthy, the toilet didn’t flush, the hand dryer is one that blows air out of the side & the dirt & dust around the air blower was absolutely disgusting, not worth using, it’s more hygienic to use toilet roll to dry your hands as all you would do is blow bugs onto your hands! Our bill came to £42.73 to only notice that they add 10% service charge, which is an absolute cheek! This should be the customers choice if they wish to tip! If you want decent portions & friendly staff, save your money & go elsewhere, not a good experience!More

We booked here to celebrate my daughter finishing her exams and we love tapas style food. We were initially greeted by a friendly FOH person and were quickly showed to our table. The resultant was packed so we fully expected a long wait for freshly...prepared food. Our drinks order was taken quickly and efficiently by a lovely waitress, and the drinks appeared pretty quickly considering we ordered cocktails. We ordered 4 small plates to share for me and my daughter and my other half ordered a main meal on his own, all to be eaten together. After a 45 minute wait for food, it arrived hot and well presented although one of the small dishes was missing. Assuming the waiter didn’t have room for everything on his tray we waited patiently for the 4th dish. No one came over to ask how our meal was or to see if everything was ok. We eventually got the attention of our waitress and asked about the 4th dish. She went off to find out was was happening. After a 10 minute waiting the 4th dish made an appearance. During this time no one came over to explain what had happened or apologise for the error. I’m hindsight we should have sent everything back and asked for fresh food to be served as the rest of our meal was now luke warm, but the restaurant was busy as we didn’t want to wait another 45 mins for fresh food. We understand mistakes can happen, people are only human after all but from this point onwards we were completely ignored and avoided. Again, no one came over to ask how the meal was or if everything was ok. Once we finished we had to ask for our bill and for a discount to be applied due to the wait and lack of apology. Finally the FOH gentleman came over and apologised but too late too late I’m afraid. The issue should have been addressed by someone at the time it was raised not some 30 mins later when we ask for a resolution. Overall the food was tasty although the small plates are exactly as described - small! Even my other half’s main meal was 5 Kofta style balls and 6 small half potatoes. Not really a main worth £13 in our opinion. We felt the drinks were on the expensive side too but would have swallowed that had the food portions been a bit bigger. Would we return? Possibly but the portions would need to be bigger for the same price or reduced in price slightly.More

Superb experience of tapas at its best for a good price. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Really good selection of small plates for £8-12 each. The sea bass and prawns were the best we had.

On our first night in York, we were lucky to find this place. At the time it was partly hidden by some road works but I was glade that we were hungry enough not to let that bother us. The food and service were very...good. Although it was not all Spanish Tapas the mix of dished that we had were all cooked beautifully. If we had more time in York we would have gone again.More

Came 30/10 with the mrs, Food was amazing and the service was even better, price was more than fair for for such great food and service, shout out to the young lad who recommended what to eat, certainly knows what he's talking about

Delicious food and excellent service. Being local Trio is somewhere we'd never been before but took a voucher from York Restaurant week and will definitely go back. The waiter was so helpful and friendly, such a shame that currently the restaurant is obliterated by the...work on the bollards, but once back in view would thoroughly recommend.More

Absolutely amazing, we had not booked but the lovely security man advised if we didn’t mind the weather we could get a seat outside! The food & service was a 10 out of 10! It was my boyfriend birthday and I asked if they could...do anything last minute and they brought a lovely Black Forest gateau cake out with a candle. We couldn’t not complain about anything. All of the food is unreal.More

All of the tapas dishes were really nice, we particularly loved the artichoke and the prawns. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and even though it was busy the service was excellent. Great drinks selection too, definitely a great place to visit for tapas!More
