Food was great at Nola. They don’t do starters, mains, etc. You choose what they call small dishes, and just fill your boots. Bigger portions than normal tapas, but not as big as a main meal. We all loved it, and the setting was great...as well. Staff were very good and attentive, without being over bearing. Absolutely no complaints, and pricing was very fair I thought for York. Give it a go!!More

Beautiful restaurant, 20s decor. Lovely food, mostly small plates, we two had 5, plus two desserts, and a couple of bottles of lovely Pinot Gris from their fine wines list. Came to less than £140. Tip - book early and book for downstairs, upstairs is...fine but downstairs is where the crowd is.More

Great atmosphere, great staff and delicious food. A bit pricey, otherwise it would have got a 5. I would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant.

We visited Nola yesterday after booking a table for 4 to celebrate our daughter’s graduation. The restaurant had been recommended to us and we couldn’t have wished for a better experience. Efficient online booking options. Attentive and lovely staff. Excellent menu choices perfect for the...occasion. We didn’t feel overwhelmed with food and what we had was very good. A special treat to mark the occasion was even provided for our daughter - a nice gesture. A range of drink and wine options were available to compliment the meal. It was an excellent restaurant for a special occasion but we would love to visit again when able. Thank you to the Nola team!More

I picked this place due to the great reviews on here and WOW not disappointed at all. Firstly the decor is so glam and gorgeous! It was a cold wet, horrid day in York! Staff were lovely, so attentive and took our coats and took...us to a nice warm table. The menu is so extensive and the food is divine! We all had lots of different dishes and everyone's was delicious! Mocktails and wine were great too and I felt prices were good for the high quality of food. For me this place was perfect for lunch and I would for sure go again and look foward to booking one of the Jazz evenings! Thank you!!!More

I went with my partner on a date night whilst away in york, the food was delicious, the atmosphere and decor were great, and I would definitely recommend it as a date night venue. We had a selection of dishes, and all were great. My...partner was a big fan of the brioche bread and butter pudding. My only qualm about giving 5 stars is the fact the plates the food came on were cold, as this is tapas you obviously aren't eating everything right away which meant some of the food had cooled significantly by the time we got to eating it.More

Service is top notch and the food is nice. I would recommend the monkfish skewers and the teriyaki salmon. Cocktails were quite weak and some of the food wasn’t 5 stars worthy, hence the 4 stars. That being said, it’s worth a visit as the...decor is excellent and the jazz music is a nice touch. Would come back for one of their proper jazz evenings as I’m sure that would be great.More

A perfect night at this lovely restaurant. Food was epic - fabulously prepared and presented. Staff right on point. Sunday evening jazz was a welcome entertainment, in keeping with its location. Would definitely return again if in the area.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. We booked this for my birthday meal as I absolutely love both New Orleans/Southern culture and 1920s aesthetic. This was the most perfect blend of the two. The place is beautifully decorated and feels expensive and stylish even though the menu is...very reasonably priced. The food was delicious - both myself and my partner loved what we had. I was especially thrilled as I haven’t been able to eat Jambalaya since going Veggie as I’ve never found decent substitutes, but the vegan one Nola offers is perfect. Lovely dessert and they even gave me a sweet card and treat once they learned it was my birthday. Our servers were very attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was everything I wanted. Honestly couldn’t recommend it highly enough, and I’m only gutted we live far from York and won’t be able to go back for a while!More

Picked this place out based on the Tripadvisor reviews and had a nice early lunch with my family. Interesting concept of small plates of classic cajin/creole classics plus plenty of fish and sea food. Something for everyone depending on what you fancy. The highlights for...us, the gumbo, the calamari, the blue cheese iceberg wedge and the teriyaki salmon. Whilst these are smaller plates for sure, they are not as small as tapas plates so a couple of dishes and some sides and you are good. They have a nice brunch menu to with po-boy sandwiches which I’d like to go back and try. The venue is nice a well, think it would be worth visiting in the evening. Overall, nice lunch spot in York.More

I think there are steps at the entrance but I am not sure of downstairs would be accessible for a wheelchair. I think if you phoned Nola the staff would certainly be able to advise you.
