The most fabulous bar/pub in York. A true gem if you enjoy good beer, amazing beer garden & open mic nights. The staff are the best in York - friendly, attentive and super helpful!

Called in for a drink as it was raining and dog friendly. Saw the food coming out so stayed for lunch. Fantastic And a sausage for the dog. Really friendly place.
We always plan our trip to York around middle of the week to see Simon Snaize and Tim. Simon hosts a buskers on a Wednesday and retro acoustic blues with Tim on a Thursday. The pub is small but friendly and definitely worth the visit...to see the live music. Simon is one of the best guitarists/singer we have seen. Such a pleasure to see and him play and complimented lovely with Tim on the Harmonica.More
Lovely spot for brunch quite pricey but you get what you pay for. Eggs Benedict were great and enjoyed them alot maybe could use a little garnish though to spice it up a bit
It’s definitely worth popping for an alcoholic beverage on that ‘secret’ roof terrace for a unique view of the Minster. Drinks are overpriced and I wouldn’t come here for coffee - it’s a bar. They must just put that in the name for extra custom....There’s tons of better cafes within a short radius. If you want to dance the night away until midnight then here’s a great spot, enjoy!More
Amazing view of the minster on their rooftop terrace. Good lager selection and tasted really good too, you can tell they look after their beers. There was live music at our visit too which made it extra special, highly recommend.
Service was quick, plenty of seats outside. The prices of drinks was disappointing otherwise it would be great to go there again.
Great, laid back atmosphere. Friendly staff, great service and live music! What more could you want?
This place has a good looking menu in the window (& elsewhere inside) so we went in & were told.....no food available. Hmmm, well take down the menus that advertise food then! Service was okaayy, not friendly but not unfriendly....... The decor is a personal...thing but I really liked it, it was like being in Spain or Portugal, it's a bar not a pub. But It's not really clear from the door or window what it is, bar, snack bar, pub? So maybe we caught it on a bad day but in the time we were sat in there, 1:5 hours, there were always less than 10 people in, bar downstairs, nice roomy upstairs area and a lovely roof terrace with views (just) of the Minster. I am sure pubs were very busy on the same street at the same time so, maybe an odd occasionfor us or maybe they need a bit of a focus? Regardless, I liked it and will go again.More
We went in and got to the bar, we were the only ones on the ground floor other than the girl working behind the bar. She saw us, turned her back and started putting glasses through the machine. After about a minute of being ignored...another customer came from down stairs, ordered two drinks, went back upstairs with them. She then went back to the glass wash, turned to us and said “I’m just going to go upstairs and collect some glasses” and then just walked off. So we left.More
Really lovely place, nice terrace bar with view of the minster. Food was lovely and didn't ha e to wait long. Staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. Good choice of food and drinks. And reasonable priced. Great place.
Atmosphere and has good music, we were lucky enough to hear live acoustic guitar absolutely wonderful.
Went there for lunch and had a very relaxing time. Had a good chat to the guy running the bar about anything and everything plus the different beers etc he serves. There's a roof terrace at the back which overlooks the Minster and this spot...is very popular in the early evening but the day we visited it was a bit too hot to be out there so we sat upstairs next to a window and people watched the street below. We each had the Halloumi and Avocado salad which was tasty and very filling, I also tried a couple of pints of the cider which went down very well. My wife and I can thoroughly recommend the Habit.More
Pre ordered pizza for 7.30 and they arrived sporadically with the last arriving at 9.45. Not sure how that was possible with pre ordering and someone reconfirming orders upon arrival. It’s a shame because the place was great otherwise.
Excellent little cafe bar, friendly bar staff, reasonably priced, would go again if in the area and would recommend
