Having been disappointed at both the Weatherspoons Punch Bowl and the Windmill, we tried this place. Although there was food advertised, on enquiry we could only have cheese and oatcakes. Why is York short of anywhere to eat in the vicinity of the station, on a weekday evening? We had to make do with a pasty - which while not... More

Me and my wife called in here whilst waiting for our train home, and I was astounded at the choice of beers available, all at very reasonable prices. If catching a train I would advise to leave enough time just so that you have time for a beverage here. However it's also worth a visit during your stay in York... More

Twelve friends. Four corners of the UK. One reason to converge on York. Dave's retirement. YT kick started the gathering nicely. Character - tick, cask ales on tap - tick, atmosphere - tick. The only downside. No draft Guinness. No decent black stuff. Chocolate porter doesn't cut it. One of our number waznay happy. "You're having a bath" - he... More

The interior of this pub is quite unusual and if you can get a booth it would be good. Pretty standard drink selection and why don't they put enough ice in the G&Ts in York?

I have been going to the Tap in York since it opened. It has an amazing number of pumps. Unfortunately, I often find it has very few porters or stouts and sometimes there are none. This has been so disappointing recently that I have decided to transfer my affections to the Falcon Tap instead!

Our second stop after Pivni, we've been before but didn't appreciate what a great bar this is. Had a couple of pints of Cali and a cheese board, already looking forward to coming back tomorrow!

Positioned on platform 3 at York rail station in the old tea rooms. A great place for anyone in need of a quick pint before or between trains. Always a large choice of British and Continental beers to be had. I don't know why but I often find the beers are not quite up to the standard I would like... More

There are always many beers and several ciders for sale in good condition. The building is old and pleasant. It is quite elegant. It was a working part of the station. I don't think they play background muzak, thank goodness.

Had some time to kill when meeting friends so called in here. Once again we tried the Criek Cherry beer, it's £6.60 a pint but what a wonderfully refreshing pint it us. Sets you up nicely for the day.
