Delicious, filling food. Lovely presentation & decor, friendly helpful staff.

I had never tried Nepalese food before but it is my new favourite! The buffalo mo:mo & daal bhat masu were delicious. My son had vegetable pakoras & beef stir fry and he was equally impressed! It was very filling too…we didn’t have room for...desserts, even though they looked very tempting! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food presentation and decor was so good that it made us feel like we were in Nepal! We will definitely come again if we get the chance!More

Not to be missed

My first visit to a Gurkha restaurant and I wasn’t disappointed. The food was delicious as was the service. My two friends and I shared a starter of pork steamed MoMo and Kukhura Ko Pakhetta. For main we all ate Daal Bhat Masu with Lamb...that melted in your mouth. I washed it down with a refreshing bottle of Gurkha beer.More

Very friendly hospitality with very good food

We were in York for our wedding anniversary, I'm a trekker and Nepal is my dream place to visit but, alas present circumstance dictates I can't, I'd seen this place on previous visits mad promised to try it. Very friendly and pleasant ambience, the food...was very good. We both went for the platter Daal Bhat Musa, I had mine with lamb curry which was superb. Very light compared to the richness of Kashmir curries I usually eat, very tasty. My wife had coconut ice-cream and I went for the Mustang Coffee, a small warm coffee made with honey, brandy and toasted rice, lovely winter warmer that coats the ribs. Very understated and relaxed place with lovely foodMore

Delicious!

The first time in a while I’d had Nepalese (the first time for my better half). Delicious- I could have eaten it again. Take your time and savour every mouthful. I highly recommend this, and we will definitely be back.

Delicious

Delicious food and a great variation of dishes for all diets. Service was excellent, and the restaurant itself was very nice. I would definitely recommend Yak and Yeti, and the homemade lemonade!

Little Gem in York

Wonderful little gem in York. This was our first visit here But not my first meal with a Gurkha (Field Kitchen) before. As always I ordered far too much LOL but loved every mouthful. The service is wonderful and would recommend booking ahead. Please do...NOT be put off by the small street level entrance door This is a Frist floor eatery.More

A perfect find.

A lovely independent family business. Relaxed atmosphere. We called a few hours prior and managed to book a table for the same night. On arrival every seat was taken and very busy. Staff were attentive. The chilli chicken mo mo’s were delicious. Would definitely recommend...and go backMore

One of the best meals we’ve ever had, anywhere!

One of the best meals we have ever eaten anywhere. One of us is vegan and the choice of vegan food was unbelievable. We started with some vegetable steamed Mo:Mos and some chilli Mo:Mos. Both vegan and totally delicious. Mains were Special Chow main and...Dal Bhat Tarkari. Absolutely awesome food. The Dal Bhat was particularly special and 100% vegan. Great experience

The small entrance is not, at first sight, inviting but the upstairs dining room has an excellent ambience. The menue is limited but the food is delicious. Friendly staff.
