We had the halloumi, pepper and chilli jam toastie for breakfast - it was lovely! However, there arent many seats and you have to pay extra to eat in which makes it quite pricey.

they use good quality, real ingredients for baking, eg butter and not margarines and vegetable and refined oils which are not great for health. so at least I ate my baked goods knowing it contained good quality ingredients. service is very good too. and ambience

You can tell how popular this place is as it’s always busy and often hard to find a seat. And people are prepared to stand and wait for a table to become free, rather than go elsewhere. And even if you’re just passing by, the...More

First visit but will not be the last. The cakes which all look homemade are amazing. The fruit scones are the best I’ve ever had. Great coffee and lovely setting.

First visit here and will definitely not be the last, everything was so good, staff really lovely, amazing cakes, the food was incredible. The only slightly negative observation is that it’s a small place - can get quite loud when full of people, and warm!...More

Quick stop for cake and tea whilst sightseeing. Lovely selection of cakes. We ordered OREO Brownies and lemon and elderflower cake. Both were lovely. Good service 😀

Found this little gem following an internet search while in York with friends. For the same price of your hotel breakfast, which is rarely inspiring, you will get fantastic coffee, delicious pastries and sourdough toasts and toasties to die for.
