Cute brunch spot with lots of beautiful sweet treats, the brownies are a favourite (obviously!) Coffee is lovely and a nice spot to catch up with friends.

Can't recommend this place enough. Beautifully presented and tasty dishes, promptly served. The selection of cakes is truly droolsome and they're all so wonderfully home-made. I had a sausage sandwich with white hot chocolate and my wife had a veggie breakfast. Perhaps a bit of...a plain interior but with food of this quality who cares?More
Wow !! We passed this place on our way from the station and it looked amazing, we went for breakfast it was absolutely amazing, couldn’t fault anything, staff were really lovely very professional, service was wonderful as was the coffee and fresh orange juice alongside...our food! We will most certainly be back when we next visit York 😘More
gosh where do i even start. i never normally review food places but i had so much to say about this one i simply had to rave about it. coffee-wise i got a mocha, and the coffee was so nice, it was definitely a bitterer...roast than i’m used to but the chocolate from the mocha balanced it out perfectly, and you could tell that the coffee was high quality, so absolutely recommend that. the cakes and bakes displayed caught my eye instantly, they were very tempting, ranging from a biscoff rocky road to a white chocolate and kinder bueno brownie, all looking absolutely delicious. however, for my food i decided on one of the specials, the ‘rhubarb custard’ french toast, and i’m not even exaggerating when i say this might be the best french toast i have ever eaten. the texture was absolutely perfect, it was fluffy and soft, and the toppings were the icing on top of the cake (figuratively and literally). the vanilla custard was so decadent and smooth, and the crème brûlée style topping added a satisfying crunch. the rhubarb jam brought a tart flavour which complimented the sweet custard, and the flaked almonds were a nice addition for both tasteful and visual purposes. the portion size was just the right amount and i cleared the plate feeling satisfied. though the prices were a bit on the expensive side, in my opinion it’s absolutely worth it and you get the bank for your buck, as they are very generous with their portions also: my friend got the smashed avocado on sourdough and it was heaped with a hefty amount of avocado. the service was also brilliant, they were very nice and everything was brought to us very quickly. in conclusion, i 100% recommend this cafe, and i will in no doubt be going back in the future to try some of their cakes!More
After a short 10 min wait we got seated. Biscoff hot chocolate was very nice, the tea was also good. Eggs royale was superb and I had bacon/sausage sandwich with hashbrowns, was brilliant. Sourdough was lovely and soft. Decent value as we both couldn’t finish...either, good sized portions.More
This is an excellent place for breakfast with a good set of options to eat and a wide range of coffee and teas. We quite enjoyed our breakfast and would come back. One warning, there is often a wait to get in (a good sign...that this is an excellent place to go to).More
Found this place while looking for somewhere for breakfast while visiting York for new year. Chances are that you will have to queue because it does get very busy. We queued for about 10 minutes. I chose a full English breakfast and my wife had...porridge with fruit with a coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything was superb. I would go as far to say that the full breakfast was the best one i have ever had and i mentioned that to the waitress. The service and food was faultless. Can't recommend this place enough if you are in York.More
Sensational. Poached eggs cooked to perfection and the pancakes were amazing. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. Would 100% recommend if you were going to York
This place is an amazing place to have breakfast and lunch. Amazing food, incredible service and spacious. You would not be able to have better breakfast than this in york.
An incredible spot for a brunch/lunch - we shared a couple of vegetarian toasties, which were the cheesiest, most scrumptious things ever!
Delicious, addictive sweet treats with the best Mocha I have ever had! Lovely staff, great brownies and doughnut of the day.
The best spot in York for brunch. Been many times and apart from one visit when I didn't like something on the specials board (obviously wasn't to my personal taste) every time has been amazing. If only it was little bigger to accommodate more people...and avoid the queues.More
The rocky road brownie I got was good, but seemed a little undercooked. Also seemed overpriced for the portion size. I would try something different if I'm ever in York again!
This place has been on our radar for the past 18 months every time we have visited York but we always timed it badly and our toddler was not interested in waiting in line. On our most recent trip we walked past and there was...no queue! We were ushered in by a welcoming waitress into the cosy cafe. Our daughter has additional needs and takes some time to settle and the staff were really patient while we had a coffee to start before committing to ordering food in case we had to leave. Even though there is normally a queue for a table, at no point were we rushed. We tried a few different things - the has browns were delicious and of course, the cakes and pastries were gorgeous. We had such a great time, well worth the wait - thank you to all the lovely staff :)More
Had brunch yesterday - absolutely fabulous. I had the eggs that were the special and my husband had a sandwich that was also a special. The eggs on sough dour toast were scrambled and served with Harrisa tomatoes/ peppers and feta. Totally delicious . Sandwich...was full and flavoursome - Turkey , pigs in blankets , stuffing …. We also had a sweet treat and flat white coffees - these are the best in York ! String and rich. Carafe of water automatically supplied for the table. The staff were so lovely. Friendly and smily. It was a pleasure being in their work space. I spilt some butter on my trousers and they were very helpful in assisting my removing the stain. The day before we’d had coffee and cakes at the Bake house two doors down which again was very good. The spiced apple cake in particular was delicious. Throughly recommend.More
