Went to this place on a cold wet Saturday afternoon. With my friend. I had sausage and onion with pickled onion gravy and my friend had roast beef with horseradish and gravy, both were served in hot ciabattas and they were absolutely gorgeous. She had been there the previous week and had stopped for lunch after a nine mile walk... More

Wow! Absolutely amazing Sunday dinner! The Yorkshire puddings were superb! You could tell everything was home cooked And for a great price, £15.95 for 3 courses! As a table of 6 we had the lamb, beef, pork and turkey which were all perfectly cooked! Lovely staff and atmosphere in the pub. Definitely recommend coming here for a meal!

Stayed in Bishop Wilton and visited the pub a couple of times. The decor is a bit outdated. The pub serves food on a Monday (fish night) very good portion of fish and chips, there was also fish pie or scampi on offer. Friendly helpful owners.

Had a meal here whilst staying in the area. The staff were lovely and attentive, however, a little disappointed in the food. A little too greasy for me. Saying that, it may have been the choice of a hamburger, would have preferred the sausage and mash but for some reason the mash was off menu. If I stay in the... More

The food was very good, a very friendly place. But tea towels that they use to carry the hot plates were absolutely disgusting.

Our first visit was April 2015 and when we booked again for April 2016, we couldn't wait. The food and service was just great (make sure you have worked up an appetite because the portions are good). The last Sunday of every month they have a jazz evening from 5.30-8.30pm and we made sure we were there for that too.

We were a family party of 6 who rocked up to be fed and watered -the pub dining area was busy but the waitress was happy to accommodate us in the bar area -although we just had mains -the food was great ! My niece who's a fussy vegetarian didn't like the veggie option of mushroom stroganoff and wanted the... More

My wife and our best Friends were staying at The Lodges in the village for a weekend away. On the Friday we arrived I had booked a table for 7pm thinking we would be there in plenty of time. However our Friends were held up due to an incident on the Motorway and arrived later than planned. I explained to... More
