Had the set menu lunch and was highly impressed with the quality price and service. The location and setting are also fantastic right in the heart of the city.

Lovely food, generous portions, beautifully presented, visited on a Saturday night, sat in the air conditioned conservatory, no problems with it being noisy. If we’re ever in York will visit again. Chocolate orange cake was delicious!

The food was really nice, however our stay was short lived. There were two large hen parties in being so loud I had to ask to move table. There was also a pianist playing very loudly making the whole experience not very pleasant. We would...More

Pizza base and chips, thats what I was offered. Well, no, actually, I was offered fish first, it was the guy at the front of house who suggested pizza base.

We parked at Grimston Bar park and ride and came in on the bus. Very easy. Shambles Car Park probably the nearest city car park to most central locations.

La Vecchia Scuola is a unique dining experience that can be found in Low Petergate, York very close to the Minster. An amazing restaurant set in a 300 year old Georgian building that was once York college for girls. This restaurant is now operated by new owners from February 2013. It has an innovative new menu with all food sourced locally and prepared for customer onsite.
