Looked ok from outside but we were disappointed when we went in. Although we saw what appeared to be a large meal being enjoyed by a gentleman, the only thin’ that put us off was the very bright lighting. There was simply no atmosphere. Clearly...More

In York for a weekend - called here for Sunday lunch - staff were abrupt and not particularly welcoming. Felt we were "in the way" and wanted out table back as soon as we had put our knives and forks down - definitely would not...More

Lovely old pub in the center of York. The food was solid, not the best I've ever had, but a solid 4. Loved the gravy and the sticky toffee pudding is well worth the extra calories!!!

We arrived at this extremely central old fashioned pub early on Saturday afternoon. It has well kept Green King ales and Theakstons which happen to be 2 of my favourite beers. The lounge is light and comfortable albeit the decor is somewhat clashing and eclectic....More
