We were lucky enough to get some seats in this cafe as it is a very popular stop off for many people. We had the bacon sandwich and the pancakes with banana, pecan and salted caramel sauce along with coffee. The staff are very friendly and the service great. The food came and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. The highlight was definitely the sauce on the pancakes, so tasty!!! Prices were very reasonable too

Myself and my wife visited over a busy weekend, but we managed to get a table in this lovely little deli. We found the staff here were very friendly and attentive. We had the meats and cheeses sharing platter and it was delicious. Overall it was fantastic value for money, given the amount and variety of meats and cheeses we were given. We even had a cheeky bottle of wine that just topped the whole thing off! I would highly recommend the sharing platter

We were on a mini break in York for a few days; we first visited for a quick little breakfast and coffee as we’d got a big lunch booked with family later; we both had the banana bread and a coffee; we loved it so much we visited for breakfast on the following two days where we tried different things. Staff were lovely on every visit and the service was excellent. Well made coffee and delicious fresh food.
This place is very cosy so you wouldn’t fit a push chair in (seems pretty obvious tbf) and if they’re busy you might have to wait for a table but it’ll totally be worth it.
Next time we’re up in York we’ll be finitely be back.

Walked into the restaurant, said that we were a table for two, if possible, my partner and I are very friendly people who understand the stresses of the job, we both used to be waiters and waitresses ourselves.
Anyway, we asked for a table for two when the lady on the till looked at us with distain as there was only a four seat table left. The girl on the till told the man serving tables that we were “only” a table for two, which he pulled a face as if we were an inconvenience.
To add insult to injury, they then moved another couple from a tiny table to the table of four saying, “well at least this couple will be eating” very loudly. (They hadn’t even asked if we wanted food, we did but never mind!) And offered us a tiny table by the queue which the seats were too small for my partner hip mobility (she has a visible disability).
As we were spoken about so rudely, as if we were not even there at some points, we just turned around and left again.
Shame really, we had heard good things and was looking forward to coming here but as I work shifts we don always get time together and my partners fatigue means she doesn’t always feel town… but we live and learn, we’ll spend our pennies elsewhere.

We visited on a Saturday mid morning for brunch. The menu was quite limited in choice, with a slightly unusual selection of dishes. The food was fine, but rather overpriced for what it was. The cafe was also quite cold inside; I had to sit with my jacket on.

Hi Helen, thanks for writing a review. Firstly, i'm not entirely sure you came to the right place as we are a deli cafe; we don't offer brunch and don't advertise that we do... Perhaps you are referring to an old menu from Burr? We have since had a rebrand and are under new management.
Yes you're right, on Saturday we were extremely short-staffed and were also catering for a wedding so regrettably, we did have to offer a limited menu. Although, this was stated at the top of the menu as well as when you arrived - i'm sorry if this wasn't made clear.
Due to the door being open. Businesses/indoor spaced are still being recommended to promote good ventilation. To protect both our staff and our customers, whilst COVID is still a big problem, we will be keeping the cafe well ventilated. However, there are blankets available for those who need it, please next time help yourself; they're in the basket near the entrance.

Popped in for lunch and ordered quiche which came with a salad and also a bottle of water. £15.45. So I was expecting a lovely selection of deli salads, maybe a Coleslaw, pasta salad, antipasti mix and fresh leaves plus a decent size quiche slice. So I was disappointed to get a small ( maybe 5-6inch diameter) individual quiche and a small soup bowl of leaves, cold potatoes and beetroot salad.
Taste wise it was fine if a bit pastry heavy but the salad was not good. Salad ingredients are cheap so maybe a better selection of deli salads would have justified the high price. Disappointed.

Like a number of others, we found this place by accident - and so glad we did. Everything worked so well: the venue is small and intimate, service was spot on and the food, even better. Chorizo hash and waffles with various toppings were consumed in totality. Coffee was also excellent. Well worth every penny

Absolutely lovely cafe, with gorgeous goodies to buy too. It is great to support independent places like this. The service was excellent - really friendly - and our three dogs were welcomed and served first with dog biscuits!
The food was delicious and different - we would thoroughly recommend the house special banana bread topped with fresh berry compote and yoghurt, fabulous bacon sandwich and 'cruffin' pastry. Ingredients were really high quality and coffee was spot on.
Highly recommended.

Spent a day sightseeing in York and paid a first visit to this nice little cafe with a small shop offering cheeses, dressings and dipping oils. Had a pastrami and blue cheese ciabatta and then their banana bread special with coffee. Bought a bottle of the salad dressing they use it was so nice. Will definitely go back.

I loved my breakfast here. Me and my little dog received such a welcome. I ordered the scrambled eggs which was served on a lovely big doorstop of bread. It was a very generous portion of creamy eggs and nicely garnished. It set me up well for the day. The coffee here is lush too. They made my dog very welcome bringing her a bowl
of water and a treat on the way out.

Wow! What lovely staff. Think it was a male manager we spoke to who was super helpful with local knowledge. So friendly and what a lovely chap. Ate three different brunches, which were just incredible! Such a lovely atmosphere.

Despite visiting York many times over the years it was only today that we discovered Mannetti’s! We just wanted a quick lunch and we were very impressed with everything. My wife recommends the mushroom and ale pie, and there were lots of things for veggies. This place might become our regular lunch place in York.

We found this café by accident and although we weren't hungry we were tempted by the cake. The Jaffa Cake Brownie was absolutely brilliant. Best cake I have had for a very long time. The owners were friendly. Prices were reasonable too. We will go back next time we are in York.

First time visit here and it certainly won’t be our last! Very friendly service, lovely Italian run family cafe serving the best ever hot chocolate and cappuccino that we have ever had plus a really tasty cheese scone. Can’t wait to return again soon

Fabulous little find.
Went here when a cafe round the corner ignored us, serving takeaway as we were waiting outside to order. Best coffee in a long time and great service and food. Our new go to place when in York.
