I have been 4 times this year and Nuovo disappoints. We order different dishes every time and the quality is always incredible. I also LOVE the Roccomora wine. I hadn’t realised this was Italian in tapas style but we really enjoyed our choices of lamb, roasted cauliflower, and courgette fries. My friend is local so I plan to come back!

We booked for Monday as expected it to be quiet, there was a lovely buzzy atmosphere which was so nice to see. As always we had a fabulous meal with great service. We had a good selection of dishes, all were delicious, the Tuna from...the specials was exquisite! By far my favourite restaurant in Northampton!More

Superb food, very well priced. It’s tapas style Italian which is great as it gives you the chance to try things you may not normally go for, instead of the usual pizza or pasta due to our rather vanilla palette. Only need about 3 dishes...eat per person as the portion sizes are really good. Service was quick, food was out quick, and the atmosphere and setting was really nice from the unassuming front you walk through. Would highly recommend.More

Exceptionally good! Best in Northampton! The food was creative and superb. Really flavorful. Italian tapas is a good idea, lets you taste a few different items. I loved the atmosphere, spacious, with nice natural light with the skylights, just a tasteful modernization of an old...building. As for dishes, the vegetable gnocchi was just perfect! If I made the Rotolo, I'd use a longer pasta noodle, roll the pasta tighter, ease off the provolone and add ricotta so you get that pasta taste and texture. A big lump of melted provolone is a bit hard to chew. Nit picking here.More

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, I tried Nuovo early evening on a Monday in June before going to a show at The Royal + Derngate Theatre, a short walk away. This was only my second visit to Northampton - and, in truth, I hadn't expected...to find an Italian restaurant specialising in tapas in the city centre. It's set back off the main road and the interior looks great. Not surprisingly, given the date/my arrival time, the restaurant wasn't very busy. I was given a warm welcome by Caleb who was my prime waiter, ably assisted by 2 waitresses. The service was friendly, efficient and timely. Caleb explained the tapas format, saying that most people order 2 to 4 dishes. He emphasised that the dishes would be delivered when they had been prepared/cooked - which duly occurred. I chose 4 dishes : Polpete di Tonno (tuna in 5 breaded balls), tomato salad, lamb rump (5 pieces "to be served "pink"") and fries. All were good size and very tasty. The fries (served in a wire basket) were outstanding. Unfortunately, 2 of the pieces of lamb were rather tough which was disappointing as the other 3 pieces were excellent. I commented to one of the waitresses about the lamb who said she would feedback to the kitchen. I wondered whether the restaurant would offer to provide me with 2 replacement pieces - they didn't. Neither did they reduce the bill/offer something on a complimentary basis, which was rather disappointing, which I commented to Caleb when leaving. That said, I would otherwise recommend the restaurant and I will return as and when I am next in Northampton.More
