Visited the Saracens again after a year or so and had lunch in the 'library' which has a very nice ambience. Food was good as ever, with lots of vegetables served separately. Not a huge menu but more than enough to satisfy most people; will not leave it so long to return again

A crowd of us went to the Saracens Head on what was a dreary January weekend and it was very welcoming and we were very well looked after. Most of us were very happy with the food, mostly having the Sunday lunch (lamb or beef) with the notable exception of a gammon steak. All was good. Service was very warm... More

We visited this establishment for the first time and will certainly be returning. We decided to have lunch which was served in one of the cosy traditional rooms. The menu was not extensive but there was something for most people. We had the parsnip and apple soup to start followed by the pie of the day, which was turkey and... More

We had lunch here. There is a good choice of foods, and a Tapas menu with lots of choices at around £4-£6. We shared chiperones, black pudding/goats cheese dish, a fish finger butty (great!) and some very tasty chips, cooked in duck fat and with a wonderful rosemary sprinkling. Service was brilliant (it was quiet) and we agreed we would... More

Went for a late Sunday lunch - car park was busy which was a positive sign before entering the building. The bar area is welcoming with lovely wood burner and some nice nooks to sit in. Restaurant area was nicely busy (but not overwhelming) and we did not feel on top of the other diners. Staff were very friendly and... More

On a midweek evening a friend and I found our usual pub absolutely full but the helpful landlady recommended the Saracens Head as she knew it, and the owners well. We arrived to find a neat hostelry with excellent parking and an attractive bar area. The staff were great and very attentive. We ordered two different meals to try out... More

I stayed there to go the dog race. The rooms were large and clean, but a bit basic. The bar was well laid out with a very good choice of drinks from the pump. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and served hot rather tan a buffet. I would stay there again if I was... More

Situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside 2 miles from Althorp House, the ancestral home of Diana, Princess of Wales. A traditional village inn with character and charm. We are a privately owned and run free house with a selection of well kept real ales and lagers plus an extensive wine list. Runners-up in the Northamptonshire Food & Drink Awards 2009. A great place to spend a lunchtime or evening.
