Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I don’t usually write review…. However If you’re not in a 5 star hotel, in India, or the Maldives, Seychelles…you won’t find better Indian cuisine, or service. I’m not going to recommend any particular dishes, because they’re all cooked to perfection. But, (hush) try the...kale kofta balls..sounds unappetising but possibly the nicest thing I’ve ever eaten. Actually try anything from the menu. You won’t be disappointed. Carnivores and pescatarians are also well catered for: monk fish curry! And check out the xacuti, you’ll be transported from northern India to goa, if you fancy . They could reduce the chilli by 1/3 for us gora boys, the spices speak for themselves.More

This is our second visit on Valentine's Day. I avoid going out at this time, because restaurants are full, so the service may suffer ,and prices are usually high. Not so yesterday. The service was efficient, even with a full restaurant and a very good...choice of starters and mains. The price was reasonable and the food well-presented and tasty. The waiting staff were attentive and checked that our food was cooked to our liking. The live music was a bonus. Well done and keep up the good work!More

I've been to Masala Junction several times and have also ordered take away on numerous occasions. For my money, Masala Junction is THE BEST South Asian restaurant in Nottingham. Consistently delicious. I'm especially keen on the kale kofta, Lahori chole, and veg biryani. Nice place...for a date, a special occasion, or take away. Top spot!More

Loved it here, really friendly & attentive service. We kicked off with poppadoms & dips, very lovely.I ordered the prawn starter & it did not disappoint, large, plump juicy prawns packed full of flavour washed down with a glass of Prosecco. For my main I...chose the aubergine curry, which was amazing, the depth of flavour was incredible & couldn’t stop eating it. Saved some to take home for lunch the next day but ended up eating when I got home. I will definitely be returning & ordering my takeaway from here going forward when in Notts.More

We have visited this restaurant many times in the past . But its our first time under new management. We booked a table about 4 days in advance. We turned up 10 minutes early and was told our table was not ready. Told to Go...and sit at the back where you pick up takeaways . Where we sat for 15 minutes. We was then given a drinks menu and was told we could order drinks while we waited for our table. No apology that our table was not ready. Then we was told our table would be ready soon . 8 minutes later we were told our table would be ready in 10 minutes !! At this point we had had enough and we walked out. We will not be returning.More

EXTRAORDINARY ***** Yesterday evening on the 29th of December, my beautiful baby cutie & Fiancé Katarina celebrated her birthday. I wished to surprise her with a dinner reservation someplace new and even the Cuisine I kept a secret. "Fine Dining Indian Restaurant" are the keywords...that won my commitment to booking us a table for 2 at Masala Junction. The Restaurant is situated within a stunning Old Bank Building (built in 1929) with architectural features to pleasure even the most fastidious Diner. The atmosphere in Masala Junction Restaurant is warmly 'pitch perfect' and so is its Staff. Shoutout is so deserved for Akash (apologies if spelled incorrectly) who was our most astutely fantastic Host/Server for the evening. He made our dinner at Masala Junction Restaurant as memorable for all the best reasons as can be experienced anywhere else. The food here is almost ridiculously delicious & my Saag Gosht was truly the BEST Saag I have ever tasted out of the 9 countries where I had ordered the dish. A quiet word with Akash during my Fiancé's shorter powder room step away, led to him in total quiet preparing a luxury cake with lit-Sparkler to surprise Katarina the Birthday Chica at the end of our meal. I met the Owner in happenstance before our exit and he is a stellar human being that deserves Masala Junction's success. Thank you so much everyone at Masala Junction Restaurant, Nottingham ---More

I was particularly impressed by the extensive vegan menu, which offered a wide range of delectable options. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this...establishment.😋👌👌More

Very tasty food. Generally overpriced. Starters particularly bad value for money (padded out with salad). Dining room very attractive. Atmosphere lively but relaxed - nice mixed crowd. The usual whiff of curry house patriarchy - women waiting tables and working hard while older men do...the easy jobs, such as offering slightly half-arsed welcomes at the front door and scrolling on their iPhones at the foot of the stairs leading up to the toilets. Scraped a four-star rating from me as the food was uniformly delicious, but it’s not a patch on Calcutta Club.More

This is a lovely restaurant with a great ambiance and lovely staff. It is beautifully set out and great background music. The food was one of the best Indian meals I have had and the wine was really good. Will definitely be going again.

The food itself was excellent, a clever , innovate twist on traditional "Indian" food. Sat in the very centre of the restaurant was a large group with 5 children, ranging from a baby upwards. The older children were totally out of control - screaming, running...around, throwing food about etc etc. None of the parents took any action, and the restaurant staff/management simply watched. From the body language of the other clients, most were as annoyed as we were. Some restaurants now have "over 12's" nights, or a policy that children must remain at the table at all times. Unless they want to lose many of their clients Masala Junction need to consider action such as this.More

Wow. Just wow! I called at 20:30 on a Saturday to book a table for 21:30 and was greeted by a lovely man who booked us in, no trouble. When we entered the building it was instantly warm and welcoming, with soft but upbeat music...playing at the perfect volume. The ambience was spot on. Once seated, our drinks order was taken and poppadoms with dips were brought to us very quickly. The corrainder dip was sublime, a really fresh flavour. Starters were onion bhajis and the paneer and brocoli dish - both my partner and myself thoroughly enjoyed these. I had never had brocoli served in this way and it really worked! Mains were chicken tikka masala and chicken xacutti which were delicious and perfectly spiced. We shared a pilau rice and had a naan each (my partner doesn't like pershwari but it's my favourite!). If we didn't live so far away this would be our new go to! Everything about the service, food, drinks, menu, decor... It was all 100/10More
