We've been in here a few times when visiting nottingham. Service, food and drinks were pretty poor this time (pie and chips was burnt) but have been great in the past so we'll be back. Hopefully just a blip on reopening.

Being a Mon. and with covid about most of the best real ale pubs in the city were shut, this one wasn't so enjoyed a few of their real ales. No problems with the staff as in previous posts in fact I found one of the young ladies behind the bar very knowledgeable about beers, that said the other member of staff never said a word, never mind an interesting experience of human nature and I'll be back next time in town.

This is a proper authentic, real ale boozer. Love it! They brew their own beer, which is excellent...and sell Barnsley Bitter!

At the peak of the rise in Covid in Nottingham we caught up with family in case of lockdown again . My apprehension was wiped out instantly on entering. Met by a cheerful staff member . Everyone had to register and hand sanitise available. One way and face coverings rules explained then take to a choice of tables . Menu left then order taken when we were ready . The open kitchen could be seen to work like clockwork, We’ve been several times before and never had an unpleasant staff and our visit was the same . Most meals can be for carnivores, veggies or vegans. Great if allergies too as heard staff checking for another customer. Food was lovely, not cheap but great quality. Limited menu at the moment but still a decent choice . We will return, I hope others support this lovely pub too

Had one of the Angel's takeaway Sunday dinners and will be having many more. Great portions, loads of quality ingredients (parsnips, carrots, roasts, sprouts, green and purple cabbage, yorkshires and proper gravy) and loads of optional sides; I had the cauliflower cheese which was amazing. Also, it was extremely easy to order with an option to pick up or it be delivered. Great food, well done and i will be ordering again.

Got served meat instead of the vegan option after waiting an age for it to come. Pointed this out to someone who sent the chef over to see us and when explaining the problem his response was to swear under his breath. Requested a refund which I would have thought would be offered without having to ask but clearly nobody was especially bothered that the order was wrong. Also served a veggie pie to one of our group who had ordered meat. Food was served with bare fingers, cutlery on the floor, one staff member went off for a cry. Shame as this used to be one of my top places to come but I won't bother again.

Really really disappointed. We visited today and ordered a vegan platter. Advised it would be about a 45 minute wait which was fine, we were happy to wait. Food arrived and our platter was missing the mac and cheese, when we were about to ask about this I tried the ‘BBQ pulled jackfruit’ and immediately I knew it was pork and not jackfruit. We drew the staff members attention to this and she checked with the chef who checked and said that yes it was meat… even though the ticket CLEARLY said it should be vegan. I’ve worked as a waitress and in food service before so I completely understand that mistakes happen BUT what I was really disappointed with was that the staff didn’t seem that bothered, we didn’t really get an apology and when we asked how long it would take for them to remake the platter as vegan they said they didn’t know, so as we’d been waiting 45 minutes already we just got a refund. I haven’t eaten meat in about six years. I certainly wasn’t planning on starting again so I’m pretty upset that I ate meat because of a mistake that this pub made and they honestly didn’t seem to care that much. I understand the the owner is vegan and I wonder how he would have reacted to being served meat when he ordered a vegan meal.

I’m from Yorkshire I should add so maybe I’m not used to how Sunday lunches are elsewhere. However, I was served chicken leg with my Sunday lunch? I’ve been alive a few years now and I (nor anyone I have ever seen) have never been served chicken leg with a Sunday lunch - there was no meat at all. The gravy was tasteless and watery and the veg wasn’t cooked long enough (although that is personal preference) and I was given one small and gutless Yorkshire pudding. The roast potatoes were really nice though.

This place is the perfect place to go with friends. Me and my friend arrived and were greeted with a very warm welcome, and not even 5 minutes into the afternoon I split a glass of orange juice all over the table. The staff was so lovely and helpful and cleaned it up straight away, and offered me a new one which I thought was a very kind gesture. My friends arrived shortly after (there was 12 of us altogether) and we all had our food. The food was really lovely and very tasty, I had the mac and cheese with bacon which was sooo good I just wish it was bigger! The waitresses and bartenders really set the tone at the start for a wonderful evening so thank you so much, we will absolutely be returning!

The Angel is far nicer than I remember it being many years ago. It's still got great little nooks and crannies, full of comfy furniture and neat little features and the faint smell of really good beer being made. The food doesn't look like the biggest portions, but that's okay because it's dense and filling and made of both top-notch ingredients and solid, stylish cooking. Very much worth your time and money.

I don't like giving bad reviews but it was really bad, we booked weeks in advance and paid a deposit for my daughters 30th birthday, they had put tables reserved on and said they would move the tables together for us, of course they didn't...they didn't even clear the tables or wipe them, I did it, there weren't enough chairs and told me to look around the pub for them as they had been taken, so I did, after 45 minutes we asked where the food was? They apologised and said they had been busy and the orders hadn't been given to the kitchen, when it did eventually arrive the boneless fish was full of bones and the peas well I don't know what they were! The table staff were very nice and apologetic, but we wouldn't go back for food...sorry

Visited here for a meal with colleagues. Very disappointed and never again. Basically why customers don't believe Google reviews anymore in a nutshell. Food very expensive for what you actually get & one of our meals not cooked properly. Beer honestly tasted like they'd squeezed the barrel to get the last drop. Staff miserable however I heard the way one of them was spoken to my 'management' and I'm not surprised - obviously a very negative work place culture.

The Angel Micro Brewery is a wonderful pub my twin brother Stephen and I always look forward to visiting whenever we are in Nottingham, a good old fashioned pub dating from around 1700 that serves without of a doubt some of the best beers in Nottingham. I love the look of this pub ,despite its great age the interior is superb, modern, light and airy, pubby decor and furnishings, nice wall art and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Stoney Street. We were here on a Tuesday late afternoon, we were greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the bar team, after a quick study of their beer range we opted to try their pale ale's, served in excellent condition,we took our beers outside were we just kicked back, chilled out watched the world rush by as we enjoyed our ale's. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced pale ale with a big hit of hops, hints of toffee and a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew on a beautiful sunny day. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Angel Micro Brewery we had a totally positive experience. The Angel Micro Brewery is easy to locate along Stoney Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Wednesday, Midday till Midnight. Thursday, Midday till 1.30am. Friday & Saturday, Midday till 3.30am. Sunday, Midday till 11pm. A wonderful pub, great beers, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Given the fact that there are some nice drinks & foodie places in the area we were expecting far better. Drinks ok but service unfriendly. We felt like standing in front of the bar with a sign saying 'paying customers, can you serve us..'. Food quality less than average overall too. Apparently the owner of this pub also owns the Golden Fleece on Mansfield Rd which says a lot to be honest.

We have eaten here a number of times, it's somewhere u can walk in and get good food. And it's excellent for both carnivores and herbivores alike, you can get all of the dishes they do in a meat version, vegetarian and vegan so something for everyone making it super flexible. We had the fish and chips and the seitan burger with skinny fries. Both dishes were excellent, well cooked using fresh ingredients. The service was also good.
