Located down Friar Lane is Bierkeller, a really good German themed bar my twin brother Stephen and I visited on our recent five days stay in Nottingham, it a bar we've been to on previous trips to this vibrant city and our latest visit was...cool. The interior is lovely, lots of German related features throughout this bar,a solid wood serving bar, tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, a very cool bar indeed. We were greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the bar team, we ordered a beer each ,we opted to have their big stein beer glasses, lots of lovely frothy beer ,we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular bar. Beer served here was spot on, a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste, on a hot night a totally refreshing brew, it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a quality brew. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on our previous visits to here we had a great time. This Bierkeller is easy to locate along Friar Lane. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, Open from Midday. A wonderful German bar, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.More

Visit on 31 Jul. We arrived early and had a beer upstairs before heading down to the show. The girl on entry was very rude and clearly flustered at the amount of people on a Saturday night. She even tried to rip our wristbands off...until we had to prove that we actually had a booking. Our waitress was also rude and forgot our order. It took 45 mins to get served, after asking another waiter. Beer was pricey and they didn't actually have any authentic German beer on draft. The food was not exactly authentic German either. If you want an authentic German experience this is far from it. The only saving grace was the oompah band, who were great fun.More

Its a good venue except the staff have a terrible attitude. Its as if the customers incovenience their evening by attending the venue. The staff clearly dont like how busy friday and saturday nights are and would rather coast through a quiet monday night. We...paid for the games package only to be dumped at a table and then left to fend for ourselves to find the darts and pool tables. Its fine to go for a drink but dont expect staff to look after you if youve purchased an 'experience' package. Such a shame. just needs needs new bar management and an attitude adjustment. Yes, drunk people are annoying, but you work at a bar in nottingham, it comes with the territory. Dont treat all your customers like dirt. Not really bar staffs fault, their on minium wage with no skill set, we shouldnt expect much from them. But managers need to sort it and educate the staff.More

Last night; me and 2 friends waited 45 minutes to get into the bar. We were then let in, and was sent up to the top floor unknowing what it was like. Unhappy with waiting for drinks in the ‘sports bar’ for 20 minutes. I...went downstairs & and asked the woman, called Olivia if there is any chance we could get a table downstairs/basement. She went out of her way, to come upstairs, and get us so that we could get to the bottom floor. We then had a problem with our drinks tickets, and without batting an eyelid she sorted it out straight away for us! Ended up having a great night!! Amazing service; lovely woman, and credit to your team!!More

The staff were wary at first but once we had a few drinks we had a great time talking to them. Did plenty of stories told and recommendations taken. We will be returning back to receive the service that should be provided by every bar...out here.More

I understand the difficulties that pubs and bars are facing at the moment. However, to advertise a table for a Champions League final l and charging a £10 deposit/head then telling customers that they can't afford BT sports is a straight up scam. The website...indicated that for table bookings during football matches, a £10 deposit is necessary. This was described as the "game day package." But when we got there the screens were turned off and didn't show the match. This resulted in every table watching the game on their phones which made for an awful experience. The manager/shift manager explained to the table next to me that it was too expensive for a bar with only 60 seats in a sassy patronising tone. Furthermore, there was no music or heaters and was just an utter shambles. The other staff were sweet and did a decent job of dealing with the mess that the management had caused for them.More

Me and my friends visited a few weeks ago for an evening out and (besides unfortunately being sat out in the rain as not all the tables have shelter) it was an amazing night! The manager, fran, was very friendly, got us seated quickly and...was excellent in the stressful environment of drunk uni students. A special mention to the waiters/bar staff adan, darren and ross who helped us out throughout the night - answering questions and chasing up drinks - thank you for a lovely night !More

Firstly the ‚Bierkeller“ is downstairs so not sure about mobility scooter . Secondly the beer would not be drunk in any Bierkeller in Germany as it tastes dreadful. It has a pseudo german name but tastes like weak English... More
