First visit and overall was very good if you enjoy tasting menus and fine dining. Unique building and layout. Kitchen a little distant from everything and ambience was a little on the relaxed vibe so great if not fairly standard/easy. Loved the snacks so much...so made the squash dish seem v average. Other dishes were very good.. Even desserts were nice which can be difficult.More

Absolutely loved this place. We came for my partners 21st Birthday and had the seven course menu with supplementary courses added. The staff were so knowledgeable in their field which was a pleasure to see (myself working in hospitality) and service was definitely given with...a smile! We both enjoyed discussing the dishes at great length (my partner especially as he's a chef!) and any questions we had about the dish was answered with ease. The dishes were excellent- even ones that wasn't the sort of things i normally enjoy were brilliant! The only dish we didn't think was great was the tomato dish but that definitely didn't matter much to us! 100% will return in the near future. Alex and his team are amazing, thanks guys! ❤️More

We had been wanting to try Alchemilla for a while but could never grab a reservation. This was a good sign and we were very excited for our pre Xmas treat! Unfortunately it didn’t really live up to expectations. They could not accommodate a pescatarian...menu without prior awareness despite them having a sample pescatarian menu on their website. We ended up having the vegetarian and regular 5 course tasting menus with the corresponding wine pairings. My husband had the supplemental beef course which came with a wine pairing also. The service was good and it all seemed well organised. The sommelier was especially helpful and knowledgeable. The venue is stunning and very lovingly restored. Unfortunately, one member of staff had no clue about the history of the venue which was disappointing given its Michelin status, but another colleague rectified this and shared a lovely photo book of the restoration. The food overall was a miss for us. Clearly the execution was of a high quality, but at times the combination of flavours was simply too funky. I acknowledge that is a purely personal taste, but we both left full but not satisfied. The wine was well thought out albeit the pours were not generous for £55. Another issue with this restaurant is the cost. At no point is it clear there is an additional cost for the beef supplement wine pairing so it was a shock to see an extra charge on the bill. We questioned this and it was promptly removed without argument so well handled. Also be wary that they do not offer you tap water at the outset of the meal - you have to ask for it specifically. Again another hidden charge for the still water we had. Finally ensure you see the coffee menu to understand the cost of this. We had 2 double espressos and some petit fours each which was an additional £20+. So nearly £50 extra than was explicitly laid out. A very expensive meal which didn’t quite hit the mark sadly. We won’t be back.More

Lunch. It is one of Nottingham's finest restaurants. We had their 5 course menu £95. Now, available every service. Some restaurants would class it as 11 courses with all the snacks and bread. Not gonna list what we had. Just drool over the pics. We...love Alex , and his team is amazing. The food and service were spot on as usual.More

Heard lots about this place but never been. Location, atmosphere and service is great. Really pleasant waiting staff. The food came out with lots of time which added to the evening and meant we had lots of time to talk and really enjoy the ambience....The food - it wasn’t really for us. While we tried stuff on the tasting menu that we wouldn’t normally try, ‘we like what we like’ and this wasn’t what we liked. The things we did like were the snacks but the courses didn’t live up to our expectation. Interestingly the sommelier was necking glasses of wine as they were serving glasses to the customers…. Maybe that would have made the food more palatable to us….More

Really nice decor and restaurant setting. Food was interesting and quite nice. The service was excellent. Eye watering expensive but nice for a special occasion. The main problem was that you have to pay a £50 deposit per person to book. Sadly our friends phoned...in advance and reduced the booking due to wife being sick with covid. When the bill came they kept £100 for the couple who had to cancel. Sharp practise especially when our table were spending £250 per head. Left a bad taste and it wasn’t from the food. Shame.More

Enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu. The entire experience was excellent. The food originally inspired, focusing on umami flavours & natural fermentation. The whole family enjoyed all courses. We opted not to have the matching wines but the Sommelier helped to make some excellent drink...choices, including our first taste of a Polish wine. The building is beautiful with red brick arches, skylights & a live moss wall. The open kitchen also adds to the overall experience. Well done to the whole team. Everyone involved seemed really enthusiastic about their product & were keen to ensure the entire evening was faultless.More

Food amazing and worth top end price but wine is a rip off and very over priced for the quality. House Red shiraz 175ml at £24 per glass.

We’ve been here before and that was an exceptional experience. Sometimes going a second time can feel a bit familiar, but in this case it was anything but. The 7 course tasting menu with the wine pairings was wonderful. The delivery of the wine with...an explanation of history, location and how it compliments the food was excellent and the food was sublime. We didn’t go for the Aged Beef this time but I don’t think we would have had room. Service was top notch as expected. We’ll definitely be back and I highly recommend this restaurant.More

As a couple we went with the 7 course tasting menu and opted to have the additional dish of aged beef with N25 caviar. We also opted for the wine pairing which was definitely worth the money to try wines we never would have tried....The sommelier is clearly very knowledgeable and selected the wines himself to pair with each dish. He explained very well why he selected each wine for each dish. The waiters and waitresses also clearly knew a lot about the food they were serving, they were professional and approachable. The whole evening felt very relaxing. The food was absolutely incredible, the best I have ever tried. Some of the combinations on paper seem a bit out there but my word it was delicious! The chefs developing/executing these well balanced flavoursome dishes are so clearly skilled at what they do. The restaurant itself is a beautiful setting as well.More

An absolutely stunning meal, my only disappointment was being full from the night before we just went for 5 courses, and having to drive back to Essex we didn't have the wine pairings! The lunch started with a selection of delicious and beautifully presented snacks,...each one well explained by the waiting staff. My personal favourite of the 4 was the chalk stream trout escabeche- utterly stunning. It surprised me that it was my favourite as others contained some of my top ingredients! We had a lovely, japanese style scallop, then my favourite course of all, which again surprised me was the carrot, kimchi and shio koji. So much flavour! I treated the husband to the special extra, the aged beef, n25 caviar. Beautifully presented and he said he was so glad he got to experience it. The next course was huge- hogget, aubergine, miso and apple. The aubergine puree was rich, dark and intense- stunning. We did not go for the cheese, but we looked at the menu which looked incredible. 3 sweet dishes were all beautiful, could not pick a favourite but the husband particularly enjoyed the chocolate and mushroom. Service was perfect from start to finish. Restaurant is clean and well presented. It is most definitely worthy of its michelin star, and I have to say, incredible value for money. Would highly recommend!More
