We chose this venue for our wedding reception and honestly could not have chosen a better venue for a chilled and fun evening. I’ve always liked this place because it’s quirky and cute. We chose the sausage and mash buffet and we know they source...More

Lovely selection of both local and world beers. Some quite rare beers on offer and generally fair prices. Lovely decor inside. Nice outdoor courtyard. Marred by the filthy, worn glassware. Visible cracks in the glassware, rims of bubbles where the glasses had been stacked within...More

Hi there, I'm glad that you appreciate the range of beers that we stock and I'd like to apologise for the condition of your glassware. I had a chat to the team member who served you, obviously he did the right thing in replacing the...More

Good location by the canal with lots of seating. Good selection of beers. Try factory no 6. Had Phillie steak sandwich which was fine. Only negative. Gents is a long climb up.

Hi Nicholas, Thanks for the review, glad you enjoyed your visit. Unfortunately there's not much we can do about the location of the toilets. One of the cons of having a canal take up half our downstairs floor space! Cheers, Wayne

We decided to visit the canalhouse as a good pub before our teams pre-season friendly with local side Notts County. Upon our group of friends ordering £60 worth of pints the fire alarm then went off and then cut out shortly after. The bar staff...More

Hi there, We are regularly a pub which welcomes away fans on match days, so long as both sides behave as we deem acceptable. During your visit, smoke bombs were set off in our garden by Leicester fans, which set the smoke alarms off in...More

Discovering that there's a canal going through a pub, it does spark your curiosity a bit as to exactly what's entailed. It is quite quirky, going in the pub and then having to access the bar by crossing a bridge with barges docked underneath. And...More
