Visited for a birthday meal with my partner and we had a great time. The food was fantastic and the restaurant was intimate and cosy. Would love to see some more veggie lasagne options as well.
The only restaurant in Nottingham where you’re GUARANTEED a fantastic meal every time you go. The best food, best hosts and cute setting. Not only is the lasagne to die for but the potatoes are also incredible as is the Nutella tiramisu!
The food is amazing, the restaurant itself is compact without feeling at all cramped and the wait staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. I will definitely be going back to work my way through their many variations of lasagne.
Service was good, food was great! We had the sharing starter off of the special's which was fantastic. The lasagna's for main were very good, not the best i've ever had, but not far off at all and the best I've had in a restaurant...in England. The sides of sourdough with garlic and the roast potatoes were also worthy of a mention, as was desert. Will certainly return!More
This place has been on my list for some time. Who doesn’t love lasagne & I’ve had some great ones in Italy so my expectations were high, especially after hearing the rave reviews. The restaurant is a cosy one with about 6 tables so booking...is highly recommended. The set menu on Sundays at £29 pp for 3 courses was great value, but we wanted some extras so got the mozzarella in carrozza with the starter & a side salad with the main, both were really lovely & the sauce for the mozzarella was so fragrant, you could really taste the fresh basil coming through. The Antipasto della chef was just what you’d get in an Italian trattoria, the Gorgonzola with honey was earthy & creamy, the honey added a perfect sweetness. The meats were the perfect temperature, might sound odd but there’s nothing worse than a meat platter just out of the fridge as this stops the flavours coning through. However the potatoes with pesto dip were a dream & by far the stand out. We didn’t want to fill up on focaccia but this was lovely too. As for the main event…Mama Mia…everything I had hoped it would be & more. We went with the Diavola & the Specials Oro Verde. These were just the right portion with incredible flavours coming through on both. The Diavola had a nice kick from the ‘nduja & the spicy salami. Oro Verde was a great twist on a classic, I can only describe as a Carbonara in lasagne form. This was layered with pistachio pesto, mortadella, crispy pancetta & bechamel. The amount of layers was just what I would expect & was very much up there with some of the best lasagnes. We left space for the pistachio cheesecake & tiramisu. Stunningly delicious & not too rich. I had to have a Hugo Spritz, this is worthy of a mention, refreshingly light with a hint of mint & elderflower. I was transported right back to Tuscany, so well done for getting these just right. A must visit if you’re a lasagne fan. There’s some gf options on the menu too just not lasagnes. Thank you for having us, we will definitely be back with friends in tow next time so we can share even more starters!More
Met with friends here for a birthday meal. The food was out of this world! Mixed starter of meats/cheeses were to die for. Main lasagne was delicious, no plates left uncleared. Although completely full we opted for dessert as part of the Sunday 3 course...offer and it did not disappoint. The service was on point and food was presented well. Will certainly return… there’s plenty more to be experiencedMore
The nutty lasagne was one of the best restaurant dishes I’ve ever had, so delicious! Warm and professional service. Will be returning!
Been meaning to try this place for so long, we finally got round to booking. It was fantastic from start to finish. We had the Sunday menu which was excellent value and so tasty! Everything was spot on, and you could tell that so much...love goes into this place! The couple that run it are really friendly and was such a nice touch that the chef came out to say hello at the end of the meal and offered us a drink on the house! The tiramisu and of course the lasagne was to die for! Lovely place, will definitely return!More
We visited Lombardos today for a family Sunday lunch. From start to finish Lombardos was very accommodating as we had a 1 year old and they made sure to reserve the high chair for us. Beautiful lasagne, my partner and I had the Sunday set...menu and wow- what incredible value, we left absolutely stuffed. I will definitely be back as this time I kept it safe with the Romana but I’d like to try something more adventurous next time. Thank you Ashleigh and Alessandro for having us and we will see you soon!More
We visited for the first time Lombardo’s today. I’m Italian so for me it’s very difficult to find restaurants that cook proper Italian food and bring me back home. Lombardo’s did that. The food is amazing here. Each forkful of food is an explosion of...taste. I had the classic starter, diavola’s lasagna (best lasagna ever had, sorry mamma) and nutella tiramisu. AMAZING. The food is fresh and homemade. My wife loved the food too. Also, Alessandro and Ashleigh are lovely people! We will definitely be returning! Thanks guys 😊More
Booked a table on valentines and wasn’t disappointed. Really different 6 course menu with great vegetarian alternative. My wife is allergic to nuts but the owners were extremely sensitive and careful with this, explaining how they had mitigated at every course. The meat lasagnes were...fantastic, nduja and a special for the night with Gorgonzola and walnuts. Both were beautifully hand prepared with great presentation and service. Sharing desserts was also a lovely touch on valentines and capped a great experience. Thank you for your brilliant hospitality.More
Lovely local restaurant. Great food, amazing lasagne !! Lovely atmosphere, nice and busy. Will definitely be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Small but amazing Italian restaurant. Ran by a lovely couple Alessandro (kitchen) and Ashleigh ( front of house) who helped to make our meal a delightful experience. Main course of Lasagna was excellent and the desserts were all tasty. Would definitely recommend it. Give it...a try.More
Ate here yesterday evening after a friend highly recommended and I have to say it did not at all disappoint! Such a quaint little restaurant with a personal touch from start to finish creating a wonderful relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. We ordered Antipasti to share...and the buffalo mozzarella was to die for, everything on the plate was full of flavor hence we polished off the lot. For main I chose the butternut squash lasagne and my friend opted for the traditional and both were outstanding quality. The service is amazing and just added to such a wonderful evening so thank you to Alessandro and Ashleigh the little touches make you stand out.More
