Our new favourite restaurant!
Went as a family of 7 adults with various dietary requirements (vegan, vegi, gluten free) and all had excellent choice of dishes.
The dosa was perfect, veg dishes are also available as side size so you can order a variety like a meze, the seafood was high quality, and the sauces were delicious. All the food was beautifully presented.
The service was friendly, the perfect amount of attentive to let you relax but be very well served - thanks Ansraf.
We felt it was excellent value for such a great dinner, and we enjoyed the decor and ambience too. A genuine 5/5 restaurant.

The food was actually so yummy, the garlic naan was insanely fresh and lovely with ghee, the travancore fish curry was very full of flavour so we finished every last drop, it was exquisite with the paratha , as an Indian the spice level was not super high but still delicious😍😍😍. The biryani was so dreamy and full of flavour, the lamb was cooked to perfection it would be great to have more pieces. They even offered us free mango lassi and free cheesecake for the birthday boy 👦. The ambience was also really cute. I would deffo come back . Also shout out to the amazing waiters who were very kind and polite and brought the food insanely quickly and shout out to the guy who gave use free lassi 😎. 11/10 from me. Will back soon 🟢

Great atmosphere in pleasing decor, with plentiful space around the tables, often not the case nowadays. The customer service from all the staff was second to none, always with a pleasing smile (particularly when i asked for tagliatelle!). Only a reduced menu due to the birthday offer, but both starters and mains we had were full of flavour, the seafood curry and lamb valutta mains were exceptional and also generous in size. Another fantastic addition to the restaurant scene in Nottingham. Looking forward to visiting again, and trying from the full menu, which appears to have a magnificent variety of food. May be a little pricey, but as the old adage says, “you get what you pay for”, this restuarant id definitely at the top table. Thank you for a lovely evening.

If you're on the lookout for an authentic South Indian dining experience in Nottingham, Kottaram is a true hidden gem. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always eager to ensure your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional.
The food here is truly outstanding. Kottaram offers an array of South Indian dishes and North Indian dishes that are rich in flavor and authenticity.The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and always happy to offer recommendations. The cozy yet vibrant interior creates a relaxed environment that is ideal for both casual meals and special occasions.
Kottaram is undoubtedly a standout in Nottingham’s food scene—delicious, authentic, and with a charm that makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend it to anyone craving top-tier South Indian cuisine!

It is rare for me to give a 5 star review across the board for a restaurant in Nottingham City and on my first visit. I can't fault the service, food, and welcome of Kottaram. Eating between 5pm and 7.45 will gain a 20% discount, provided you each have a starter and a main course.
I can highly recommend our starters; tandoori mango prawns, or lamb chops, and chicken lollipops (spicy).
The team also kindly provided our daughter a slice of cheesecake, played, and sang Happy Birthday to her. It's a nice touch.
Prices are reasonable for the quality of food.
There is also a separate function room above, which may be hired and seats a max of 45 to 50 people. This has its own bar and music and can be fully catered.
Would recommend. £95 for 3 starters, 3 mains, and a bottle of prosecco.

We hadn’t booked and it was very busy which is always a good sign but someone was just leaving so they managed to find us a table for two. The menu is just big enough with a good choice of authentic southern dishes. We had onion bhajis and samosas to start. I had the Keralan chicken and my husband had a spicier chicken dish which they adjusted to give him the heat he wanted. Everything was delicious and tasted home made. The manager came over at one point to apologise if the service was slow as they were two staff short but we thought the service was good and hadn’t had a problem at all. I can definitely recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be returning.

2nd visit to Kotteram (in a week) & on both occasions the food has been absolutely brilliant. We picked kotteram due to its seafood dishes & they didn't disappoint. Tandoori prawns & salmon tikka starters were very tasty & good quality served with a dip that complements perfectly. The meat eaters had lamb chops & kebab both well seasoned & very tasty.
The full Malabar fish is probably the best fish I've had. A large fish cooked perfectly & stuffed with an amazing seafood mix. It's so tasty you almost forget the curry side sauce, which is excellent & also comes with lemon rice. A brilliant plate of food. The mixed seafood curry is a large portion well stocked with seafood in a mildly sweet curry sauce & the lemon rice is the perfect accompliment. The Garlic Nan is fresh, full of flavour & cooked to.perfection again up there with the best. Add in the friendly welcome & attentive service it really is a 5 star visit.
To endorse the staff & ownership even more, AFter happily paying the bill which was excellent value for the meal I was stopped when leaving with a very apologic waiter who had spotted the mistake on our bill & wanted to refund the amount

It was really nice meal. The service was excellent. I was left to enjoy my meal. I was over on business from Spain(Marbella) and it was nice to have a different curry. What made it even better was that they had gluten free bread with the curry as I can’t have Naan bread. So made it even more enjoyable.

Made a reservation to celebrate my birthday this evening. Had a warm welcome by front of house who showed us to our table.
Menu had a variety of dishes, I opted for a Kerala curry which was piping hot, full of chicken and flavour. My partner chose the chicken Rogan Josh which he said was full of flavoursum without being over powered by spice
I booked a table to celebrate my birthday. At the end of the meal my partner and I got to share a generous price of cheesecake with the extra delight in of card and gift voucher.
We have had a lovely evening in a smashing Indian restaurant.
Maid Marion Way has a variety of Indian restaurants to choose but I would recommend Kottram 100%. Excellent staff, food, generosity and air conditioning on a hot evening.
Thank you for making my birthday special, we will be planning a return visit in the near future

A lovely family meal, made really special by such lovely staff and such tasty food.
We all chose from the Southern Indian and fish menus. The waiter was really helpful, giving his suggestions where needed.
They paced the delivery of our second course nicely. And benefitting from the early bird deal, the whole meal and drink were very reasonably priced.

I don't understand the reviews for this place. The service was terrible, there were several empty tables when we arrived and we waited 25 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink. Every drink then onwards we would order and it wouldn't come, so we would have to ask again for the bottle to arrive. We were also ordering champagne (which was 100 pounds) and received this level of terrible service. Will be going to Memsaab or any of the other indians in future.

We were really looking forward to eating here but all of us were left disappointed. The 4 main courses we had all looked the same even though we had different dishes - basically bowls of brown slop. Also, they brought hot plates out for our food only to be left with 4 cold plates as they took so long to bring the food through - so the hot plates were a waste of time. The service here is pretty average. We wanted our evening to feel special and it felt far from it unfortunately. Doubt we'd go again.

Celebrating my birthday at Kottaram in Nottingham was a delightful and by far the best experience, filled with exceptional hospitality and delicious dishes. A standout moment was enjoying a spicy mango mocktail, personally prepared by Jumy, perfectly tailored to my taste buds. The personalised service and attention to detail enhanced the dining experience, making it truly memorable. The surprise birthday cake and Joseph's captivating songs added an extra layer of joy to the celebration, making the afternoon unforgettable.
Had the special thali for lunch and my god was i rolling out the restaurant after the meal! Kottaram not only offers delicious cuisine but also provides personalised and joyous experiences for its guests. Absolutely delightful. Johns our server was courteous and took time to discuss regions and recommendations. The seasonings were all superb, a lot of attention to details that did not go unnoticed. Gulab Jamun was light and expertly executed. The coconut cooler accompanied the meal well.
Highly recommended.
I am somewhat disappointed in myself for not going sooner. We kept giving Mem Saab another chance like fools; the food quality there has fallen through the floor and there could be no further mitigation. We will only be eating traditional Indian at Kottaram from now on and look forward to further recommendations from the team.
A well deserved 5 stars, you can tell how passionate the chefs are about executing the highest quality in their dishes. Bravo.

We recently dined at Kottaram and had a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious - we thoroughly enjoyed every dish we ordered.
What truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by our waitress, Farha. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Her service was a highlight of our dining experience.
I highly recommend Kottaram for a delightful meal.
