We were staying over on West Bridgford and so looked for somewhere for breakfast. We took the time to walk there as it is a little out of the way, but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. A quaint place, with friendly staff. We...had coffee and a delicious breakfast, scrambled egg on toast and egg, sausage and bacon. Well cooked, just what we needed.More

Three of us booked for lunch at "Tiffin" near Nottingham and whilst it was a nice English 'teashop' experience (the afternoon teas looked great) it was all rather expensive. My wife and I each had the Tiffin Club Sandwich, which was made with one and...a half slices of bread, and it was £8.95 It did come with a few chunky chips, which were delicious, but even so in our opinion it was a meal that should have been more like £6.95 Our daughter had a Tuna Melt Sandwich with some Chips and our lunch with just two drinks (as I had a glass of water) came to £31.50 So in summary whilst the food was nice we would not return due to the inflated prices and average service. An afternoon tea, which looked great, was £16 per person.More

We have been here a couple of times, once for breakfast and once for afternoon tea and tea tasting. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. All the meals are cooked and prepared freshly on the premises, including the cakes. There is a huge...choice of teas to choose from and a cake to go with them. It is a small tea room, so if you want afternoon tea, then you are best to book in advance.More

My two friends and I come here regularly to meet up fpr cofee and cake and over the few years it has been excellent and a charming service. However the last 2 times have now put us off for good I am sad to say....My friend had pre booked a table by the window. We got a table in the middle of the room where they accomadate large parties so lots of noise. When ordering we felt rushed by a stern looking lady who wrote down the wrong cake for me and then moaned when she had to change it!!! There was NO toilet roll, thank goodness I carry tissues. When my friends coffee and walnut cake arrived it tasted stale as though it had been out for at least a couple of days. My cup and saucer were dirty, the cup was sent back as it had a brown ring around the inside. I always have the hot chocolate as its rich, thick and creamy and piping hot. Today I got what can only be described as a puddle, thin and luke warm. We have decided to ring the changes and go elsewhere but all feel this is a real shame as it used to be so charming and a wonderful warm service.More

Tiffin is a cosy and friendly tea room; interesting range of teas and good coffee and a vast variety of home made cakes. Welsh rarebit is delicious too. Staff and customers always seem happy so eating here is an enjoyable experience

Had Afternoon Tea with my husband and 2 friends recently., just under £60 for the 4 of us!! The sandwiches were very average and no choices given, the tiny cakes were OK, the fruit scones were very disappointing, with inadequate jam and cream for 4...of us. . There was a choice of tea or coffee- and the tea was horrendous, definitely not the popular brand we use at home.- far too weak and not enough milk on offer. The service by young ladies was OK -ish, and it was quite busy with ever increasing noise. The door kept blowing open continuously which was a pain. If that was a quiet afternoon, as we were told, I'd hate to experience a very busy weekend, with even more noise. Overall, overpriced for the whole experience. Don't know if we'd re-visit. Overhyped Afternoon Tea for West Bridgford! Just about managed to park outside, but the parking areas nearby are extremely busy all the time, due to residential areas. Location of Tiffin on Abbey Road unappealing.More

Hubby and I went to Tiffin for lunch yesterday to get a break from the noisy renovation going on at our place. It was a late mid-week lunch so Tiffin was relatively quiet and we were able to chat in the pretty setting, enjoying a...coke each, whilst we waited for our cooked-to-order food. I had the falafel stack which was in a small rustic style bun with avocado and came with some nice crispy chips and a side salad. Hubby had the vegan bowl and was pleased with his choice - lots of different things in the bowl. We followed up with a big pot of tea served in lovely china. Price was reasonable compared with other places (about 24 pounds for the lot). We had to drag ourselves away and back to the chaos!More
